so after I replaced my tires to 35s I’ve noticed that my truck stops like shit. Feel like I need better brakes. I can’t do the big brake kits cause I believe you need 20” rims. I have 18” rims. Is there any products that anybody could recommend that would work with the 18s that will work better than stock? On the third gens.

I just installed the StopTech drilled and slotted and I’m very impressed with the stopping power over stock I’m also running 35” tires on factory wheels and notice a tremendous improvement

Ok. I was looking at those. Not many options out there from what I gathered. Did you change out the calipers too? The front and rear set with calipers is like 1000 or so.

Yea not at all, but from what I understand StopTech is the same manufacturer of the TRD BIG BRAKE KIT. Give @eccracer104 a shout he’ll give you a great price and point you in the right direction.

    Some stuff
i put on EBC slotted/drilled rotors with their yellow stuff pads. super grippy. the yellow pads are a little dusty up front so if that bothers you, you can use the green pads.

Right on. Brake dust doesn’t bother me as long as the brakes do better than stock.

No experience on the Tundra yet, but I have the Power Stops on my ‘12 Sienna. Rotors and ceramic pads were the same price on Amazon as OEM’s and other than the occasional snarky comment about having slotted and cross drilled rotors on my minivan, they’ve been great. 15k miles so far and zero warpage with very little wear and I’m not exactly easy on brakes. Very little dust, too.

They are a little noisey, particularly when cold, but it’s a non-issue with me. I’m not sure you would even be able to tell with the extra noise of a truck in the background.

The Tundra will get a set when the time comes.

Are you still running these brakes? Review after a few years? Thanks!

Have you upgraded to braided stainless brake lines yet? (Basically the rubber hose from the hardlines to the caliper)
Have you ever replaced the brake fluid? Had a brake fluid flush?
Brake fluid is hydroscopic meaning it absorbs water. And over time that water content can impact braking performance.
Some OEM's recommend brake fluid change at 50K, others recommend changing it after 3-4 years.
Before dropping a ton of money on a BBK, i would recommend considering these two options.

I really like the idea of the wilwoods because they use a 2-piece rotor (reduced rotational mass) and fit with 18's.
After reviewing the details, I would consider it more of a big caliper kit. The stock tundra rotors are 13.9 dia. so you are only gaining 0.35 diameter! or really 0.175 mechanical advantage.
