Upon buying my 2017 Tundra CM Limited, I watched the forum for a while to see what members were using for aftermarket headlight solutions since the stock OEMs pre-2018 were utter crap.

I see the Spyder setup, 2018 OEM LED headlights, other LED setups, swapping bulbs into the stock projectors, various other HID solutions, etc. I bit the bullet and decided to go for a Bi-LED projector setup offered by forum member @eledobleu and couldn't be happier.

I decided on the Morimoto Bi-LED projectors with a Morimoto DRL strip that has switchback functionality and a turbine shroud. I also had him paint the stock reflectors black (as I didn't need them anymore).

They turned out incredible and were well worth the money. Some people will say that LEDs don't have the width of the HIDs, and that IS true, but it's not a large enough difference to me. This is especially true when you compare them to the stock OEMs (both halogen and LED on the 2018s). Also, the LED projectors lack the complexity of an HID setup (ballasts, ignitors, bulbs, etc). This setup should last around 12-15 years depending on how often you run your headlights.

I'll happily answer any questions that you guys might have. It was a relatively easy install and config - 100% plug-n-play for all but the the DRL delete mod which just requires a de-pin under the dash.

Some night shots to show real world use...

A foot away from my garage door. The Morimoto 'M' can be blocked out if you want. It should give you an idea of the beam pattern:

High beam into the same woods:

Saved a little $ and went with the Profile Led with LEd strip from same source. Very happy after being disappointed with stock halogens. Also added Lasfit led bulbs to fogs. Rarely use brights now. I can actually read street signs. After jacking with depinning for the switchbacks for a few minutes just cut wire. Figured I am never going back.

Yeah, the Profile look just as good to be honest. Both are great solutions. As for de-pinning, I would have shown you a trick involving a thumb-tack. Oh well, maybe next time.

I need to decide if I am going to do retro-fit LED fogs, 2018 OEM LED fogs, or just throw some LED bulbs into the housing (not sure if they would create any glare, but something to be aware of I guess).

Sure. To de-pin something in the harness, just a small flathead or something similar lift up the pin release. Then use a needle or thumbtack to push in and de-pin. The thumbtack is good because you can push on it easily to get pressure to push out the pin.

I'm about to do a similar retrofit and was starting to look into the wiring. Did you have to splice the LED drivers into the existing harness?

What model LED projectors were used in your retrofit and what is the color temperature? Any issues thus far?

I'm getting a retrofit done soon, and trying to decide between an HID or LED projector and if I go LED, which model for them to use. Thanks!

I de-pinned my amber DRLs on my 19 pro lights. I tried the thumbtac and Gorilla F#@&d the inside of the terminal and snapped the grey wire. Only plus was I was able to fit a small precision screw driver in there and get it out. Also threw the lasfit LEDs in for turn signal bulbs. They are pretty bright.
