For all my wrench savy Tundrians. I’m wanting to upgrade and install some performance enhancing mods to my 2018 TRD Sport 4x4. I don’t know/understand all the mechanics behind this field. But I’ve always liked K&N and was thinking about their Cold Air intake system. What do you guys think? Prefer?

The best CAI is the OEM one that your truck came with. Toyota didn't leave a lot on the table. You can go long tube headers (in some states) or supercharger if you want true gains.

I think you would be wasting your money on a CAI

I have the k&n intake on my truck and it feels like it gained exactly 0 hp, but it makes a wonderful sound when you step on it.

Yea I was looking at the supercharger but I believe Toyota stopped making them around 2016/2017. Just didn’t know what else I could do. I love the power it has, but you know how it is, could always have more lol

Magnusson made the TRD supercharger and still make 'em. I'm just not sure they have the supporting software for an '18. @boardude went with long tube headers but he lives in Az, can't do that in Ca. @dirtydeeds would be a good guy to talk with about max performance.

Yea the Toyota service guy wrote down Magnusson for me to search and call. Definitely can’t do long tube headers out here lol

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
I say stick with TRD parts. Go with the exhaust and air filter swap for starters. The trucks are pretty powerful to begin with.

Does anyone recommend installing an MSD ignition on a 2017 4x4 tundra TSS?

I was going through alot of silty roads in the summer where I live and work so when I checked it I noticed tons of silt caught in the filter, hosed it out with compressed air and haven't messed with it since been like 4 years now I peel the sock back and it's still clean

Mine is a 2017. and just a note. All the threads i read through says the S&B does not cause a code to pop up so thats why i went with that one. Toyoto's computers are very sensitive. Also i have seen an increase of about 2 miles per gallon on average so that is alot better then stock. But it also could be because I have the bully dog set on performance across the board now. Bully dog is the way to go if anything.
