Dealer let me take it over night. Few very minor cosmetic blemishes on the top above the windshield. Small scratch near the one tail light. Underneath looks solid. Some surface rust, but looks like it was recently coated. Truck really got up and moved. 4x4 engages just fine. Slight ticking in the engine. Tried to capture it in a vid, but I don’t think it came out right. Either way, I took a second vid with the hood up, idling. It won’t upload tho. Miles are at 174,490. Getting service reports in the AM. Price is 13,999. Buddy with a 2014 tundra says his also has that same noise, so I think the miles are just making me paranoid. Brakes are going to need replaced....should be replaced before hitting the road....and tire tread is about 50%

    Any additional thoughts?

VIN search was clean. Still waiting on service records. But in the meantime, I found another tundra that could be a great deal. Either way, I’ll either be in this crew max or the sr5 double cab and will post pics of whatever I get into.

Blemishes close to windshield area could be product of windshield replacement. Installers tend to mess up paint along the edges which leads to rust. Can be hard to treat in future without removing windshield again.

Just make sure all the panels line up nice and straight. Be sure to check in day light look along the vehicle for anything out of the ordinary. Check the bumper and doors are alligned and flush. Take an obdII reader and check the codes. Look for check engine codes and see if anything was recently cleared. This is something I do always when buying a pre owned vehicle.

If the car is from somewhere like Louisiana or Texas check under the spare wheel and door seal for flood damage.

If you are ever unsure take it to a trustable mechanic and get him to have a look over it.

Good luck! It looks pretty solid from the pics. Try negotiate down to 10k.

Love the area there. Recently stayed out in Corolla over the summer. We left right before the storms came in.
