I'd be leery of anything that cheap coming from a flood zone. Although it is up there in mileage.

 

He said 170k over the phone but yea, 212k in picture, I got a buddy who’s right around the corner from the dealership gonna look at it and drive it up for me for free if it’s good

So check waterpump and other service records at dealership/carfax
Timing chain?
Suspension?
Any thing I need to look out for or do ASAP?

Another bust, NH truck riddled with rust, luckily I had a friend 4m away from the dealership, he was even begging me to let him drive it to me (so he can pick up a friends car to take back)

I do real estate (flip houses and such) and need a truck/daily driver ASAP as someone ran into my wife totaling our other vehicle not long ago...

That ford was a Frankenstein, horrible truck... getting the 08 5.7 4x4 crewmax, 212k miles... just hope it passes the mechanics inspection... I can handle the rust, acid wash and a bit of sanding, $10,500 out the door, tags and title when I get it back home...

Anything y’all recommend doing mechanically to make sure that engine stays tickin for a good long time??

 

I paid $7,000 for a 2008 one owner, 5.7 4X4 with 175K miles on it. I think that 10,500 is too high given the mileage, then again mine wasn't a crewmax.

 

If I could find that deal I’d jump all over it... I don’t need a crewmax, just a doublecab, but this is honestly the best deal I found close to 10k

 

Yeah i just looked at my local Clist and FB marketplace in VA and didn't find anything remotely close to what i bought mine for. I feel like i lucked out, prices of trucks generally are higher in the winter time up here.

 

So I bought a truck 600 miles away, after my brotha from anotha motha took a look see, he just finished driving it up to me, and man is she a beaut!

2008 SR5 Crewmax TRD off road package, 5.7L 4x4

I was super surprised when I got in and seen a sunroof, did not expect that in a truck!!

It’s got a Tonneu cover already, and the truck pseems to be in great shape, especially for being 10 years old!!!

Put her in beast mode and scared the shit outta my buddy with it, he did just get done driving 9 hours and it was 5AM

Couple quick questions, I’m looking to get Bluetooth in the truck, any suggestions?
And what’s the first thing yall think needs to be done (maintenance/after market/whatever) mind you there’s 212k miles on her

5.7! My father in law had the smaller motor because he didn’t know they made a bigger one. He hated that motor but loved the truck. Now he drives a dodge....
