In auto mode, the fog lights will come on when the headlights are triggered to come on. I kinda wanted the fog lights to be on all the time, like when the DRL are on not just headlights. There is a way to do that but its not nearly as easy as this.

I have a 2018 with factory LEDs and 12 volt soulutions remote start setup. No power to fog lights at all. Everything else on the truck works as expected. I’m not say it's because of the remote start I honestly don’t know if they were working before install. Any ideas? I’ve tried every switch configuration possible, swapped relays and tested fuses. I also pulled the fogs out and hard lined them and they work fine. I’m also showing two hot posts in the relay slot. This is driving me nuts. Any help would be much appreciated.

No fogs whatsoever in any switch configuration. I did speak to 12 volt solutions this morning and they think it could be a bent pin going to the BCM connection. I’ll update later after I mess with it.

The BCM basically controls all your on board electronics. Power windows-door locks-lighting ect. And the remote start harness plugs into it.

I was messing with this one today and found my 2018 to do the following from factory:

Headlight switch Off - fogs off
Headlight switch Auto/DRL - fogs off
Headlight switch Parking Lights - fogs on
Headlight switch On - fogs on
    Brights On - fogs off

I'm actually good with this setup, but was curious if this was different than older models?

I have a 19’ Ltd. On mine it’s negatively switched too. When I do your method the fog lights stay on permanently - even when ignition is off. So I hooked the fogs to the drl relay and they stay on only when the drls are on. ( I want the fogs on all the time) so I hooked them up to my headlight relay. They come in with low and high beams but not drls. I’ve got to get my meter from my other house to figure out a negatively switched relay. Another know of one??????

Would have to see how you wired it up. Mine would only come on if the headlights were on since the headlights were negatively switched also.

    Regards

Wanting to do the Anytime mod to my 2017 CM Limited, but want to keep the stalk switch to turn them on. No need to tun them all day in sunshine when the DRL's are on as well.

I wired them as the 5 min mod as above. I bent the pin over, and connected a wire to ground. They stayed on at all times even with ignition turned off.

If you wire them up as the first post of the OP, yes they will be on always as its neatively switched. I wired mine to negative pin of headlight relay.

Hey thanks for the info. I did wire it up to the headlight relay and as well but when the headlights are off so are the fogs. I then wired them up to the drl relay and the fogs only turn on in drl mode and turn off when the headlights come on.

Cool write up! First Gen’r here and experiementing with the same mod. Our Under Engine Fuse Box is a little different. Anyone have experience with pulling these Relay Switches out?

Tried wiggling and pull method. Wisdom says stop. Visual inspection shows 4 clips on the fuse housing. Need a special tool?

Also, underneath the fuse housing there are 2 clips holding the base in place. Another special tool?

Tried prying clips (4) and (2) but too tight of space to lever any actionable results!

As good as it gets for now. Thanks epa4wd! I wired as you have on my 2018. I now have fogs in high beam which was my main goal. I have fogs on in high beam, regular headlights, and auto mode (when headlights auto on). No fogs in Parking light mode or DRL. Prefer the fogs to also be on in parking mode, but I'm fine with it for now. Thanks again!

What happens if you ground both the headlight and DRL relays in 18-19?

Then you would be grounding also the headlights to the DRL, headlight would turn on with DRLs.

This is the best way to do this. WOuld you happen to have a write up on how you connected to the wiring connector? can you use this button and hit the button to turn on the fogs with just the ignition on and turn them off with the ignition on?

Fogs work with parking lights, low, and high. Will not work with just ignition on.

Used a quick-tap for the illumination wire. Didn't mess with the actual harness.

That makes sense.. They will only come on when the parking lights are turned on. I would like to see how I can get them to turn on without turning on the parking lights, but in retrospect, it would be best to have the parking lights on while the fogs are on so the warning sound let me know the lights are on. Nevermind, your option is the best one. So you actually ran the bent tab Neg wire to the black, the green to the negative, the blue to AC wire for the illumination of the dash, and blue to a constant positive with a fuse?

-bent the tab on the fog relay.
-ran a wire from the tab through the firewall to the switch inside the cab.
-ran a wire from the opposite switched wire to a ground (bolt) on the dash.
-ilumination wire just goes directly to switch.

This will depend on the switch you get and exact wire colors/configuration. The switch is just opening and closing the ground of the relay, it is not carrying the load of the fogs themselves.
