So at work we are having a cookie backing contest for the holidays. Was wondering if any of my tundra ppl have any good recipe that they wouldn’t mind sharing. Any kind of cookie goes. I need to make 3 dozen. Not sure what the price is yet so can’t say I’ll hook any 1 up with part of the price but if it’s somethint decent I’ll work something out or send a small gift for the holiday spirits :)

**must b made from scratch no store bought dough

My favorite that my wife found on the internet. It is supposedly a higher altitude recipe. Best I've made in Colorado. Not sure how different it would bake in CA.

    1 cup of butter (cold!)
    1 cup of brown sugar
    1 cup of white sugar
    3 eggs
    1 tsp of vanilla extract
    1/2 tsp of salt
    1 tsp of baking soda
    3 1/2 cups of flour
    2 cups of chocolate chips

    Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
In a large bowl, stir together the butter, white sugar and brown sugar until smooth. Mix in eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the batter just until blended, then mix in the chocolate chips so they are evenly distributed. Roll cookies into balls onto ungreased cookie sheets spacing 2 inches apart.
Bake in the preheated oven until the edges begin to turn golden, 11 minutes.
Allow cookies to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheets before removing to wire racks to cool completely.

Get a bag of Nestle semi sweet morsels and use the recipe on the back of the bag. Best chocolate chip cookies ever!

My specialty cookie is white chocolate macadamia. I make these for almost every family gathering and they're usually gone by the time I leave.

    2 cups + 2 tbsp flour
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/4 tsp salt
    3/4 cup butter, softened/melted
1 cup packed light brown sugar
    1/2 cup granulated sugar
    1 egg + 1 egg yolk
    2 tsp vanilla extract
    3/4 cup white chocolate chips
    3/4 cup macadamia nuts, chopped
*optional - a dash of nutmeg (I just wing it)

    - mix flour, baking soda, salt, and *nutmeg with a whisk in one bowl
    - cream butter and sugars in another bowl. add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla. mix until combined.
    - add flour mix in batches
    - stir in chips and macadamias, cover and refrigerate for an hour.
    - roll into 1 inch balls and bake at 325 for 8-10 minutes. If the edges are golden, they're done.
    - I let them sit for about 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire wrack to cool.

I use a baking mat like this (not this exact one, but very similar) for cookies and it's amazing, they don't stick at all.

Sorry! I didn't check the forum this weekend. If I use salted butter I'll use a little less salt. How did they turn out?
