So went on a trip today, trying to take the way back roads from Forest Grove area to Tillamook. I failed miserably, as every road I tried taking from Cherry Grove was gated off. Ended up taking South rd down to yamhill, where I took old rr grade rd to somewhere, and picked up the Nestucca scenic byway (which was awesome).

I have since discovered that if I had taken pike rd northwards, just on the other side of the river from old rr grade rd, it would have taken me up to Barney Reservoir and Trask Rd....DOH!!! I was like 200 ft from making the right turn dammit.

One of these weekends once I correct my mistake, expect trip pics.

I made it up to Barney Res. yesterday! Finally, gates were open (fire season over, and hunting season is on). Beautiful spot up there, was close to sundown. I think the wife got a picture, I was too busy zooming around. Maybe pics to come. Need to go back soon and complete the trek to the coast from there (only 26miles past the reservoir ,much shorter than taking the highway, but probably takes 1.5-2hours longer since its all logging roads).

    Truck needs a bath now.
