Are these things connected? If so, is it ok to drive in limp mode without causing more damage? The only fix i have seen is the AIP warranty that was extended (but i'm past the ten years). Can the VSC and trac thing be fixed separately from the p2440?

P2440 is for the check engine light. The VSC and Trac lights are on for limp mode. I would first check the MAF sensor.

How was it driving before this started?

check engine light came on 2-3 months ago. drove normally with that on. the two weeks ago the RSC OFF flashing and trac lights came on, then it went into limp mode.

Toyota put out a TSB for P2440 codes.

Any updates on this? I saw on one thread where guys were saying it could be that the fuel cap isn't tightened all the way. My fuel cap doesn't click anymore so I'm not sure if that could be the issue? My truck is not driving any differently than before, no issues at all, it just has these three lights flashing.

Pretty sure that code is for the AIP banks stuck open or closed. If the truck is out of warranty, you can have them fixed for a few thousand, or just by the bypass kit. I just installed the bypass kit on mine about a month ago and have had no trouble.

Will the warranty cover this if I’m not the original owner? I am still under the 10 yr 150 k limit though?
