So I installed a 3 inch leveling kit(3” front and 2”rear a kit of Amazon) today on a new 2019 crew cab only 150 miles. After I get the install done I’m having an issue when slowing down and stopping from 30 miles an hour and under the vehicle shudders until it comes to a stop. I am experienced in the Jeep world. I build them all the time. This is my first attempt to lift and modify the tundra. Love the truck any help would be appreciated. I want to run 35’s but don’t want to mount them until I solve this.

Did the lift come with a carrier bearing drop? If not start there.

I have similar specs with my lift as well as 275/70 - 18 BFG's. My truck had a mild "shudder" accelerating from a complete stop. Coach Builder Carrier Bearing Drop did the trick for me.

So I installed a 3/4 kit. No change. It does it from 15 to 20 miles an hour on deceleration and acceleration. Any thoughts. A larger drop? 1 to 1 1/2 "

Doesn't hurt to add a few more washers to see what happens.

Were your rear lift blocks tapered?

Most blocks come tapered and have to be installed with the angle in mind. Some don't and they sell shims for that.

Really thought the CB drop would have solved it.

BOSS 4x4 3" Lift kit, TRD Swaybars, TRD dual exhaust,
also make sure your rear blocks are in correctly, or that'll give you a drive line vibration even with the carrier drop kit

How what should I look for. It looks pretty straightforward. I will check for tapering.

So they are straight cut blocks. 2" I just went out and measured.

May need to try a 3 degree shim.

Id start 1st though with adding a some more standoff to the CB drop and see what happens.

Did you try a few more washers on the CB?

No degree shims on the block, at 2” flat is fine. If additional CB drop doesn’t help look elsewhere. I’ve only had one truck with 2” rear lift need more CB drop, it took around an inch, wouldn’t go more. Look at e-brake cables, they want to go through the leaf springs with a 2” block if not modified, inspect driveshaft for damage etc.. I personally would stick a GoPro under to see exactly what’s happening before throwing money at it.

Thanks. I have extended the brake lines. I will try the 1" CB drop later today. If not its all coming off and going back to stock. Then I will order shackles and shocks.
