I can do basic wiring but when it comes to adding diode‘s and relays I call it quits without a proper diagram. That’s why my tail lights are stock LOL. I like plug and play shit.

This was the key phrase in making me think it was something with the brake light circuit, since that is how the accelerator interlock programming is designed. Throttle pedal input gets ignored when the ECU sees a brake application after the throttle is depressed, and the engine defaults to idle.

Throttle input after the brake is applied gets recognised, example: if you were starting up a steep hill, like a boat launch, and need throttle before releasing the brakes fully.

The whole thing was in response to the “unintended acceleration” complaints with Toyotas almost 10 years ago, along with the shortened throttle pedals and floor matt securement.

Voltage feedback on the brake light circuit was also likely the cause of the ABS / VSC fault. I’m guessing you don’t use cruise control much, since you didn’t mention it kicking out for seemingly no reason.

And yup, some weird and wacky things happen when electronics and relatively simple electrical faults get mixed together. Glad one part of the puzzle is solved, good luck with the headlight issue.

When I called and explained the problem of the bulb being loose and constantly falling out. They told me that's an issue they knew about and even if they sent me a replacement it would do the same thing. I explained to them that currently I had taped the bulb with electrical tape and they said that's something they would do and it's perfectly fine and recommended I do that lol. Pretty crappy how they would sell expensive ass bulbs that don't fit correctly. I don't remember how many times the bulb fell out and I had to remove the tail light housing and tape again and again. I researched the VLEDS designs and they have done their R&D and this won't be an issue with their products. I should receive today, thanks.

I have heard nothing but good things about vled. I was just curious if @Headlight Revolution would comment on here since they are I believe a vendor here and this isn’t good for their name.

Glad to hear i wasn't the only one dealing with that strange headlight issue.. I would occasionally hit the left turn signal and the cluster lights would shut off. (OEM headlamps)

Guys dealing with this problem (headlights or blinkers acting weird), I recommend you to carefully inspect your turn signal sockets, check everything and try to detect any water intrusion, clean every terminal and seal with alcohol and apply dielectric grease to terminals and seals to solve the problem if it’s a water related issue.

If problem persists definitely have to find professional help to inspect the electrical system to detect what’s causing a short or feedback in the headlight/blinker circuitry (this could be caused in some cases by a loose or damaged connector, chewed wire, etc)
