Ahh...the way you replied made me think it was because of your "little 4.6". Mine 4.6 does have tow/haul button...and beast mode!

Yours looks to be white, so according to some on the forum, it's not needed in your color...;-)>

Op initial post is hilarious funny.
But I hardly believe he gets 24mpg on a highway. Did I miss the joke somewhere?

Ive always argue to everyone paying for gas is cheaper to buy than any anti-depression pills to boost my sanity.

Tow/haul mode keeps my dopamine dose up!

I just stumbled across a great video of three different vehicles driving over the same off-camber obstacle that puts one front wheel, and one rear wheel, in the air ... and how their respective differentials (open, Tundra's Limited Slip Differential, and locking) handled it.

Here's the link to the Tundra's limited slip differential, aka "traction control", in action -- notice the front left wheel, the one in the air, does a quick succession of start/stops, as the computer automatically applies braking only to this wheel in the air, which allows the open differential to transmit torque to the other side where the wheel is in contact with the dirt.

I tried this today for the first time...you guys weren't joking. It will snap your head back off the line and real easy to get the tires loose. Felt like a young buck again!

There is no way you could logically think this was true.....however.....I've absolutely seen it with my own eyes, beast mode tow/hual and nannies off....mpg just up to 16-18 in city, normally around 12-14. 45-50 mph around 1200-1400 rpm. I expected fuel suck but got the opposite with this config, does anyone have a technical explanation?

Don't know how technical but observing:

Not Lethargic, more responsive so less fuel used to get to the same mph.
Shift points hold a little longer instead of prematurely shifting and using more fuel to get back up to optimum RPM range for the gear selected.

This of course is after the thrills you get in the first 10 minutes or so of driving in beast mode and carpet wear under the go pedal. :burnrubber:

Fair enough, that could be it. Any thoughts on long term use? It's a pain to set this every trip, but worth it for the mpg if there are no negatives on wear and tear.

Its second nature to hold the buttons as soon as I start the truck, however I work in the electronics industry and have access to folks who design circuits for a living. I've asked for an easy hookup (in line) to simulate the button press on start up so there is no wire cutting, just plug and play. Backlog is killing that at the moment...but that's the long term plan.

What? Beast mode gets BETTER gas mileage? OK I got fuelly, I've been running mid grade from the same station for months now. I'll give the next tank full beast mode for the week and let's see what it does.

so, trac control off and tow mode on = beast mode? and beast mode gives you whiplash and an extra fuel tank (better MPG)?
    Is this really true?
If so, i'ma gonna give this thingy trick a whirl.

I'm seeing it short term...couple days, couple hundred miles. I'd love to see if others can confirm. Tow/hual on, trac off button once then hold for three seconds. ALSD is apparently disabled over 30 mph but if you hold for 3 secs AGAIN its completely off. Try it out and let us know...

I have a PAC TR6 trigger module programmed to turn on tow haul mod turns off trac control at ignition on both my Gen 2 and Gen 3 Tundra's. I'm not going to get in an internet pissing contest so I will not tell you the MPG's I get but I will confirm it is definitely better in "Beast Mode" as you all like to call it. I seem to get better MPG's than most claims I see on here and one of my trucks was even SC.
