Undercover and I love it. Get it painted to match your truck from their factory. Everything stays dry. Even in hurricane rains! Easy to remove when you need to.

Thanks for all the replies. Still a bit on the fence, but the Rugged Liner Truck cover is high on the list for the sheer convenience of how easy it comes off and on. I need height very often, mostly keeping a small weekend trip secure and weather protected. The shell provides even more storage, but is considerably more PITA to remove. It also renders my sweet roll down rear window nearly useless.

Will follow up to the thread if I ever make a decision! haha!

Ordered an ARE CX Classic with the Outdoorsman side windoors.

4-6 weeks now until I officially reach “old man” status!

Yes to this. If you go tonneau spend the money and get a retractable one. I used to get the cheap velcro roll up and the changes in the seasons would mess with the tension.

As mentioned, it depends on your needs. For me, I went with a BakFlip because I carry large items on occasion. The rest of the time, I like having my little stuff out of the weather. I've found the BakFlip doesn't leak at all. Nonetheless, I have a Husky bin with top on it in the back that my toolbox, med kit, and other little things are kept in.

I've had both. I prefer the look and functionality of a Shell.

It is really up to you and what you do with your truck.

Just go with your heart.

I didn't notice that a Soft Topper was suggested.

I've had both rigid caps and soft tonuau covers.

The soft topper is a huge win in my opinion.

I never consider security a factor. If someone wants in your rigid cap or toneau cover, they will get in quite easy.

At least with a soft topper, all the theif has to do is unsnap the sides.

With all that said, it seems kinda dumb to keep valuables in the truck regardless.

After a lot of handwringing, I ended up buying a Leer 100XR today for my 2018 Sport. Acadia Package, windoor sliders, keyless, powerblock, BedRug mat, and install the Pop & Lock. It's the same Leer shell and setup that's been on my Tacoma since 2012, minus the windoors. Corrected the windoor mistake this time.

I priced this out last year. Prices went up quite a bit for 2019 at Leer. I remember someone asking when the best time was to buy a cap, and it was Black Friday 2018. I waited and paid for it.

A big issue was bike storage. For the UnderCover Ridgelander and Leer 550, you could put the bikes on top but couldn't easily open the cover with them on. The Retrax Pro XR and Pace-Edwards UltraGroove were a better option because you could open the cover with the bikes on. But I worried about space, taller cargo, and stuff getting wet. I started out looking for a tonneau cover, but went back to Leer.

ARE CX Classic. Fold-down front slider. Side Sportsman Windoors. Bees knees.

I really, really like the quality, fit, and paint match. I also am really digging the look:

This is the exact model and features I just priced at the local ARE dealer. Any leak issues?

Really like that setup. Can you post what kayak racks you have and maybe a picture of what your setup looks like with those and the Yakima box on?
