I’ve got an old 280sl on the must do car project one of these days. Wife’s been begging for one for about 15 years.

I’m the same way. Even my ‘55 has driven through snow storms in West Virginia and hurricanes in the Carolinas

back in the day, i was spending about 85% of my pay on a 1 year lease of a 2008 911 turbo. My yearly mileage limit was 10000. I only took it out once or twice a month and for 3 track days, but damn did I feel baller. It was funny seeing a 2003 Mazda protege and a 2008 911 turbo side by side.

Yesterday drove my buddy’s GLE AMG in auto on the highway, steers and keeps distance between cars by itself, not touching anything. Was messed up, trust issues lol

My self built bagged ls swapped c10 scares the shit outa me haha. I did all the welding and swap. The whole suspension is my doing. Had to build a sketchy custom ujointed steering shaft. The truck is fast and light. Spins the tires at 110 haha. The truck is all steel no padding anywhere barely a carpet- no airbags. No head rests to save from whiplash. The gas tank leaks. The tires leak. The air ride system leaks. Seats belts half ass work. Exhaust is basically straight pipes so it’s so loud I can’t hear the welds breaking haha. An inch of the bottom of the frame has been ground off on the highway so the frame is really loose haha. My neighbor (mechanic) signed the original safety and gave me a list a page long of rules it breaks haha.

I have a massive list of things I need and want to do to finish this thing obviously haha.

This is the scariest thing I’ve ever driven in my life. But this is all part of the fun haha it

Not that I've owned, but in high school while my truck was in the shop my grandpa let me drive his 5-spd '87 Civic hatchback. That thing was about an inch off the ground (exaggerating, of course), had no airbags and no power anything, including no power steering. I'm kind of a big guy (6'4") and it felt like I was driving a go-kart death trap out on the roads. Needless to say, I couldn't wait to get my truck back.

I have a 71 Ghia Convertible in storage with a 2180 dual webber setup waiting to be installed. Used to have the 2180 in a sand rail and that scared me sometimes.
