    Its the perfect amount unless you are refurbing the entire transmission. A trick to flushing your transmission of all the old is to do two consecutive back to back changes a few days apart.

    Yes, just exchange all of the fluid while you are at it. It will not hurt anything. I've done it on three different Toyota's without any negative consequences. Google Tundra transmission flush for instructions

    Goes pretty much like this for a 2nd gen. Probably similar for a 3rd gen as well. I used OEM Toyota Fluid. It really isn't that bad to do this.

    3 quarts is only if you do a drain and refill on the pan. If you do a full fluid change, you will use quite a bit more. I think I used around 12 quarts to get everything looking clean.

    Will be doing things soon. 112,5k miles on what I can only assume is the original fluid.

    At 42K I did not think I needed to change the filter but I dropped the pan to clean the magnets. Ended up putting about 5.5 quarts back in. Take notice of how much comes out and use that as a reference to start with.
