Marketplace fail

New Tundra owner here and new to the site. Not trying to create drama, but am I unreasonable to assume once a deal has been made to purchase something from another member, that deal should be honored? We agreed on the price (full price, no attempt to negotiate down), and set a date and time to complete the transaction. Less than 24 hours later, I received a DM stating the items were sold to someone else. Needless to say, I'm pretty displeased.

 

That’s non sense. Especially on the forum if ppl do this they should get banned. Especially if u agree date and time to pick up. Now if the seller would of said first one with cash gets it then different story but he agreed to sale then they should stand by their word!!

 

Happened to @Pudge recently. Sucked. He claimed first dibs and even PM'd seller but meant nothing apparently. We can be better here in that regard.

 

Yeah that seems pretty lame. There should be some type of seller/buyer rating system on here so people can be somewhat aware of who they're dealing with if they've done stuff like this before, or vice versa if they had a good transaction. Overall the forum was worse than here, but the Titan forum I was on when I had my Titans had a seller/buyer rating system.

I say forget a rating system, if one member screws another over, a lifetime ban should be imposed. If we cannot be civil with fellow members the “brotherhood” is dead. Just my $0.02.

It's a matter of integrity. You're only upset because you've got it and the seller completely lacks it. It's happened to me on this forum too. Completely sympathize with you.

 

There’s always two sides to the story, although it looks like you were in the clear here. Often times people post things here and CL/ FB marketplace simultaneously... The mods will give him/her a chance to explain but otherwise the confidence thread is a good place to post it.
At least money wasn’t exchanged..

 

A straight up "I'll Take them" leaves no doubt as to who is wrong here.

And I also agree that the member in the wrong should be banned. You either have integrity or you don't. We as a community can decide how we want things around here.

 

Maybe he realized youve never posted anything on the site and thought you'd scam him... And he needed money for Christmas... Just speculation. And possibly he is a turd wrangler

He should have honered it, but if it were me, I wouldn't sell anything to someone who hasn't posted at least as many times as it would take for someone to list an item for sale.

 

I literally just purchased my Tundra and joined the group. Are you proposing I sit quietly by instead of jumping on a good deal because I'm the new guy?

I haven't read all the rant on this thread nor I intent to do so.
Needless to say, "I will take them" does not constitute a selling/purchasing contract. I sold my items to the person that showed up with the money. I was not gonna risk loosing the sell over a 1 post member saying he can't make it on this day but this other day he can. Often times that end in "Sorry I found other ones closer, etc etc"

I have done hundreds of transactions over at Tacomaworld and I have said "I will take it" and the next hrs or day the seller will post "SOLD"
