The Original "Bullitt"

I took my daughter to the SF car show today. She was having a great time sitting in all of the different makes and models dreaming about what car she wants when she gets her license. We turned the corner and saw this - THE original car from Bullitt - the one that Steve McQueen actually drove.

My daughter did not get why I like this car so much - tonight we are watching Bullitt and then she will get it.

 

That is awesome! I hope she appreciates the car after watching the movie!

 

So badass! I hope she wants a fastback mustang after you watch the movie and you have to help pay for a $300000 car hahah

 

I’m sure she will. Just hope she gets why I was a little giddy when we saw this.

She actually wants a Tundra. She sat in a Tacoma and said it was too small. She really liked the Voodoo Blue pro they had and $50K is better than $300K but she’ll be lucky to get a used Corolla.

I saw this article a year or so ago about "one of" the Bullitt 'Stangs being found in Mexico recently. The one you saw is apparently the Bullitt car, though there are others.

 

Makes sense. These movie cars get trashed.

They had letters on display from Steve McQueen to the owner of the car trying to buy it back. The guy who owned it never did sell it back to McQueen.

 

Such a cool car and one of the most iconic chase scenes in cinema! So cool you and your daughter got to see it in person!
