This is my first build thread of any vehicle I've owned. So bare with me here.

After the Thomas fire we were forced Into change up or living style and we had to go from living in a permanent; stationary home to going full time mobile.
    20171206_132835.jpg

We started towing with our 1990 3/4 ton suburban. It pulled like banshee but guzzled fuel at a rate of almost 3MPG when towing. (Closer to 12MPG when it was with out our trailer.) That fact along with the need for something that can have years of reliability towing we started our search for a full size truck that could move our home.
    20180718_084452.jpg

We already had a 2015 4Runner that we didn't get to use much since we went full time in the TT. We made the decision to trade out T4R (Nacho) for a 2018 Tundra (Ironhide).
    20180303_122917.jpg

That was honestly one of the Hardest choices we've had to make since that rig housed so many memories that built the relationship that her and I have today. We had every intention of keeping Nacho till we took our dirt naps.

So far, Ironhide has hauled out home around like a champ, but we are still outfitting him to fit our needs for the outdoors and tow at the same time.

Here is how Ironhide sits today-

Got all but the rear shocks installed.
(2.0 icons are on back order. I have no plans to do anything other then tow for the next 2 weeks or so. Not having the extend travel in the rear is going to no issue.)
Very basic install (took some off camber tactics to get the space needed for the coilovers to slip in.)

We gained 2.6 inches in the rear and just over 3 in the front.
Bent down the bracket for the ABS wires in the rear to give me more working room and chose to leave it that way. It does not hang low and it also lessen the risk of damage to those wires.

My lady helped a lot with this. She is quite the handywoman when it comes to automotive. And our niece decided she needed to help too lol.

Went ahead and cut off the last 2 feet or so of the exhaust. (I then decided to test its strength by bashing head on it.... exhaust won)

    20181124_160417.jpg

Torqued it down did a 10 mile shake down dirt drive and all felt great.

We will be adding sumosprings and CB+1 in the rear as well as super bumps up front. But that's going to be it for a while suspension wise.

Finally got around to installing the rear Icons, the Odyssey battery (that thing is HEAVY!), and I'm using a friends Rooftnest RTT till then end of January. It's nice to test these things out to see what you like or dont like before paying up to 3k+ for some tents.

I have also been toying with the PSI for towing and daily driving. So far I think I found that 42 in the rear and 39 up front is working really well.

I love having the Leitner designs Box on the side to store my air compressor and tire repair kit all in 1 spot. I think we will find a spot to mount our compressor (possibly where the OEM Jack sits.) In the near future.

Next week Ruben Clark Auto will probably have my sliders done. He's been shipping them all over the county so I told him I'm in no rush.

I'm actually getting some great deals! My sliders are going to be in the neighborhood of 575 I believe, I traded my mountain bike for the Leitner rack, and then we saved almost a grand between the RCI skids and our Icon/OME lift.
The battery we got for 250 :anonymous:

We've managed to do this build the right way I think.

A set of five 35x12.5R17 BFG wrapped around a set of method wheels. A killer deal at 600 for the set. I'll be getting lugs letter this week.
Now I have to figure out what cutting and trimming i have to do to get these to fit properly.
