I'm planning to buy the Toytec Boss kit with the rear add a leaf and SPC UCA. My tire plan is 285/65r20 KO2s or 295/60r20 Falken Wildpeaks ATs. The plan is to keep the stock platinum wheels but use Bora spacers. Hopefully I only need to massage some plastic.

Any concerns about 295s on an 8" rim? Any specific love for one tire over the other? I'm intrigued by the Falkens as they are less expensive and still get good review everywhere I look BUT are more of an unknown. Rain and snow traction are my main focus.

    I appreciate any advice!

Based off of my research, either tire size should work. I literally put new tires and wheels yesterday. After removing the front mudflaps, i only get rub at certain angles on the driver side at full lock. Im on a 35x12.5 on a 9 inch wheel though. With that being said i think you will be ok. For the record i went with KO2s. My go to tire from here on out

Pretty sure you should be on a 9” wheel

Agreed. Although, Falken does say that approved width rim for both of those tire sizes is 8"-10". But, I still would bump up the width to a 9" if it were me.

Right the approved rim width is 8-10 but I would be pushing the width by ~.5" per the mfg specs. If I go with the Falkens they offer both sizes.

Not sure how Falken is still an unknown to so many people.
The AT3W is an a excellent tire.
It should definitely be one that you consider.

So all this talk of sidewall flex made me do some maths. This is a purely a relative check for anyone who is interested. For sure there are other factors at play eith moving to a larger tire.

The middle is my current scenario of 285/55r20 on the factory 8" rim. I have a sidewall flex angle of 14.62°. 285/65 reduces it slightly to 12.45°. 295/60 is basically the same as my current tire at 14.5°.
