I’ve got one on my 18 with the H key. Works great. Just have to remember to pre set your heater settings when you leave your truck for the night. 12 volt has a really good YouTube video for the install, very easy.

I installed one last weekend. 2018 H key. Very, very easy and a well made harness. I didn’t need to drop the airbag.

My only dislikes compared to the fancy OEM one in my wife’s Honda Pilot:

    1. As @WZ KTM mentioned, preset your heater. Same for your seat heater.
    2. If you have auto headlights turned on it will activate on start. Not a big deal.
    3. Range is limited to the keyless entry which is, in my opinion, poor. I will likely upgrade to the phone module as I do not want to carry a remote.

Overall, good purchase and happy so far.

This looks very nice. I've also got a 2018, and being a bit of a keychain minimalist, I've been looking for a remote start solution that works with the factory key.

Can someone who has this installed confirm a few things?

    1) Hitting the "Lock" button on the factory key 3 times to remote-start the truck ... does this lock the doors as well, if they were in an initial unlocked state?

    2) To drive away, you get in the running vehicle, put the key in, turn to ON position, and drive off. At no point do you have to shut the engine off and immediately re-start it (like the bullshit factory-installed remote start kit)

    3) If you leave the defrost, heat, and ass warmers on the night before, they will come back on when you remote-start the truck. I.e., the whole point for getting this kit.

    Thanks!

Yes. It locks normally. It listens for three lock presses in sequence and then starts the truck.

Unlock, get in, turn key to on, press brake and drive away. You do not have to restart the truck. At no point do you need to restart it unless you touch the brake before turning the key to on.

With an SR5, yes except for the rear defroster as they are all hard “on” switches. Can’t speak for the auto climate control in higher trim levels.

Thanks for your confirmations! This sounds great. I've got the Limited trim package, and my heater is not a discrete lever / switch thing, but rather fancy dials and buttons, so I'm still a bit leery as to whether it will come on or not. I will get off my lazy ass tomorrow morning and do a quick test with the actual key, shouldn't be too hard to confirm.

From what I have experienced, if it remembers it with the actual key, it should be the same with the remote starter.

Update: On my 2018 Limited, when I turn the truck off, and then on again, the climate control system remembers the settings for:
    - Ass warmers
    - State of the following: Temperature setting, Sync, A/C, Auto, Windshield Defogger

It does not remember the setting for the side mirror defogger button. Which is kind of annoying, because if I'm using a remote start on my car in the winter, it would be really nice to melt the ice off the side mirrors. But at least my ass warmer will be all toasty.

I purchased mine today, I talked to my dealer and and as long as it is 100 percent plug and play, no wire splices, it will not void any part of the warranty, so I called and talked with 12volt solutions and confirmed, no splicing with the new kits, 100 percent plug and play. For those that have done the install, do I need any special tools to remove the panels, and do they go back in place easy.

I've decided I am ordering this and the phone module. Waiting until Friday to see if they go on sale at all, either way pulling the trigger then.

You don’t NEED any special tools but a trim removal kit is helpful to prevent scratching. There are lots of kits available on Amazon for less than $10.

This write up is dead on. I put one on my 2019 CM 1794 a couple of weeks back. Love it. I have the h-key.
It took a little over an hour to install. Removing and replacing the panels took most of that time.
I’ll probably end up adding the $199 Wi-Fi module to extend the range.
No special tools are needed. I used a large screwdriver with a rag wrapped around it to pry of the necessary panels to prevent scratches.
The 12 Volt Solutions online video is great. I had a couple of questions before installing. They responded to my emails within minutes, even after hours.
The only very minor glitch is that, when you remote start, the auto steering wheel and seat adjustment doesn’t work when you put the key in. No biggie for me, I just hit the profile adjust button on the door.

I installed one on my 17 highlander...easy enough to do but like others have said the range is limited to the factory fob range which is horrible imo. I will probably add the phone option as well.

I just installed mine today. SR5 with H key, everything work as advertised. But usually when i turn off the engine and hit the lock button the headlight will turn off right the way. Since installed remote started, somehow headlight still on after i turn off engine and hit the lock. Is it normal ? Did everyone experiments same thing or i just setup it wrong? Thank you for input!

On mine, if headlights set to auto and headlights are on, the headlights will stay on for a short period of time after first lock press. Headlights will turn off immediately upon second press.

I believe this is called a "courtesy wait time" feature. Headlights stay on long enough to help you see to get inside your house.

Thank you for your reply. That make sense now. I thought I program it wrong or something because before installed remote start, headlight go off immediately after hit lock button.

Just installed in my 2017 SR5. Installation was straight forward. Removing the panel under the glove compartment was somewhat difficult. I lost my patience and broke one of the clips. Module programming presented a slight challenge. Follow the programming instructions EXACTLY as written. Be sure to plug in connectors coming from the BCM harness first BEFORE the large black connector from the main harness.
