Timbren/Fisher Plow Installed

    I just added a Timbren leveling kit to the front to assist with the Fisher HT Plow that was installed today.

    Sorry for the low light. Will add more soon. The kit lifted the front end about an inch and a half or two without the plow on. Doesn't change it dramatically but I think it looks nice.

    Yes sir, from Maine. I've been plowing with a 3/4 ton Silverado. I used to do parking lots and a couple of 500 foot plus driveways. Now I only do mine and my in-laws, so this will be an awesome rig for that. Fisher makes a great product. Snow shoeing is so exhausting! My wife makes me do it a couple of times a year!

    Nice setup!

    Look into extending your bump stops for that leveling kit if you didn't already. I tried to look up their leveling kit quick but only found their products for the rear suspension.

    I have a Fisher ht and just got a 2017 DC. How did the Timbrens hold up (no pun intended) with plow? Were they easy to install? Also were you able to keep the skid plate on?

    Yes, the skid plate stayed on. The Timbrens are good, but really just a buffer for when the front suspension is loaded. More or less it's a rubber bushing to keep the truck from bottoming out. I would definitely install them with a plow to protect the truck. Since we drive over roads with frost heaves and stuff too, you know?

    I added bilstien 5100's in the front on the middle setting. It leveled the truck out perfectly and helps lift the blade when you add the steel cutting edge (if you do). The double can might be different than the crewmax, especially weight wise on the front suspension, but I really like having it lifted just a little in the front to help with the weight.

    Thanks for all that info. That is exactly what I want to do to my truck, Timbrens and Bilsteins 5100 in the front. I do have steel cutting edge because my driveway is half paved and half gravel. We have plenty of frost heaves here in the Monadonock area of NH! Did you replace the rear shocks or keep them factory and did you have to do an alignment after install?

    I did not replace the rears. I left it as is. I'd like to add airbags later, but it isn't an issue as of now. Yes on alignment.

    Realize this is a bit old, but am more or less doing the same thing. I had the same plow on my '14 TRD. Now i have an '18 TRD. how much better do you think the 5100's and timbrens are the over stock TRD setup for plowing? Considering bilstein 6112s up front which will lift if a bit too.

    I imagine it’ll be roughly the same. The Timbrens are more or less there just in case with the heavier cutting edge I have now. The 5100’s are great, but really to keep the nose up. I would think the 6112’s would do the same thing!

    Did you install the plow on your '18 yet ? I'm installing a Sno-way on my '18 today I believe. I was wondering how the front end is without Timbrens on the TRD suspension. Thanks

    I know this is super old but on our trucks do the Timbrens ride on the control arm all the time or do they just touch when plow is on ? I had Timbrens on my 2016 F150 and they rode on the control arms all the time and made for a real stiff ride

    Finally got around to installing my plow mount this past weekend. kind of a bitch ughh, but it's done (only 1 snowstorm to late). The plow is a 7.5' fisher HT and weighs around 500# or so. I haven't had any issue with the plow on my 14 or the limited use on my 18 and the stock TRD suspension. I do limit how much i drive around with it though, prefer to leave it at home as I"m only really plowing my own driveway.

    Dave, I started to install my fisher mount on my 2017 Tundra limited last night and was wondering if you used the bolts through the frame with the 7" metal welded to them or if you used case hardened bolts and just went through the other side of the frame. My frame has cut outs on both sides of the frame and I think i can get the bolts through the backside of the frame without making bolts that have the 7" metal attached to it.

    That part wast tricky, you have to bend that metal piece just right to make it work without f'ing up the bolt threads. Don't think it matters how you bolt it so if you can make it work do whatever is easier. I can't quite visualize not using the OEM bolts w the welded tab but ymmv.
