    Hi Folks,

    New here...first time poster!!

Quick question on hyper flashing. I installed replacement LEDs for my front turn signals and they now hyperflash. I assume I need a resistor or something along those lines. BUT my question - Does anyone know of a product that would toggle hyper flashing for when I run my hazards but NOT when I use my turn signals? If I had this, and I convert the rears to LED's as well, it means I won't need to by strobes for plowing. Any thoughts? Any advice, suggestions or heckling welcome.

I’ve suffered from LED rejection before. Switched back to regular bulbs and life was easier again.

Welcome, it would be easier to run strobes than try to do that, and yes you need a resistor. What bulbs did you get?

Not sure on yours but my 04 there's a Novita LED compatible flasher so that resistors aren't needed.

IMO using LEDs is to lower power consumption and if you have to add resistors that kind of defeats the purpose.

The hazards work on a different type of circuit or something like that. It would be better to just to install strobe lights. The resistors are needed to simulate a load that the filament bulb uses. The vehicle detects the lower voltage and causes the hyperflash. I have had LED turn signals and side marker lights in my truck since 2014 when I bought the truck and still have them today.

I bought signal LEDs on Amazon (Canada) with built-in resistors. Might be a different story come next summer and they overheat causing hyperflash. Right now so far so good.

Wow - great feedback folks. Thanks so much!!! So it sounds like external strobes are the way to go...I still like the LEDs though, so I'll look for resistors or perhaps the Novita version.
