Hey guys and gals new to the community and I have a question ......
First off I have a 2000 tundra sr5 with a 4.7.... fromt brakes are shacki g like crazy this text less than a year since I replace all my caliper pads and rotors and again everything is junk . So I took everything off again and started inspecting the steering knuckle and where the caliper bolts too I found that the lower ears were worn out and on an angle which is how my pads wore down and seized up the Pistons in the calipers (see pics) .I am going to attempt a repair on the ear as a temporary fix by going down the ear somewhat flush and using some washers as shims to mount the caliper nice and square .now my question ..... I want to know if it's possible to use 2006 Tacoma spindles as they are more plentiful and they have bolt in Hubs which would be easier for future service . Thanks guys any input is greatly appreciated!!

No, they will not fit. Tacoma and tundra parts are interchangeable. Also only 2000 to 2006 tundra parts will fit. After 2006, the parts changed

2007 and newer body’s. Styles changed along with many parts. 2000 to 2006 tundras most parts are interchangable. Depends on engine/trans, combo and if it has v8 or v6 engine. Sequoia parts are the same . Not all, but certain ones are used on both models

I was hoping the newer spindles woul fit because as you can tell in the pics I live in a salt zone of the country where it just completely rots theses trucks out something terrible. Those spindles were replaced with the frame in 2013 if you can believe it .

I try to undercoat it once a year but I'll tell you it's not doing a damn thing .... I was discussed when I pulled the wheels off ... Everything Toyota replaced in 2013 is basically rotted to death again I love this truck but the rust is unbelievable.

Actually, you want to look for 2000-2003 spindles, and if you don'thave ABS that makes your search easier. 2004 to 2006 have a design change, not a direct swap for those.

Well I opted to just clean my knuckles up a bit and ordered a set of brakes off Rock Auto figure I'd do a little update . These calipers are a bit bigger and thanks to all the helpful research my rig should be up and running soon !
