No worries. Can’t fit the tires until I collect all my new suspension parts anyway.

    Fake News uncovered!

When trying to get a deal on tires, its always best to ask the manager BEFORE you buy what is the BEST deal that they can provide out the door!

In my case, with no sales going on during my purchase, I saved $150 just by ASKING. It helps to have done business with the shop in the past and already have a good working relationship established.

90% of getting what you want is asking for it!

    Those sheisters! :argue:

I followed that link specifically because I got it doing searches for that tire and size.

Aw, well. Guess I can stop worrying about paying for an alignment I won't use.

Anyway. So now I know @Casper421 would appreciate a good deal too. I'll keep looking and let you guys know if I find something. Please do the same!

I think you're right! With all the money I'll need to launder to get this build going, I better practice this.

I’ll keep a lookout but most likely won’t get tires till the new year. Are you still building a parts list for your suspension or getting ready to buy?

Um. I'm holding out hope that PapaSmurf will create my parts list when he gets through all the stuff he's got going between now and Thanksgiving week. We talked about it, and he knows a lot whereas I know enough to know there's a lot I don't know, so I've decided to take him up on it.

That means I'll miss any deals on suspension but I don't imagine TC and ADS do Black Friday discounts on premium parts... whereas it seems likely I could score a deal on tires.

Anyway, I can afford to buy tires. I'll probably do some short-term financing to pay for the suspension. So two different time-lines.

Edit: probably TMI, but I shared so, anyone following along that links me to a good deal knows, I can move fast on tires, not as fast to buy suspension. But, really, once I know what to buy, I should be up and running to buy soon after.

    Thanks for looking out, Chris!

Okay. My plan is probably to keep the wheels I have for the short term. But. Damn :): it's occurred to me, the inferno would not, but the green 1st gen would look good with bronze wheels. :p

What wheel offset you guys (and Sam) running? Trying to cheat on figuring out 'what wheels will fit?', with 285 75 16, before ordering suspension....

No one feel obligated to chime in, but if you're willing, I'll appreciate your help!

My icon 17s are 4.75 backspace with 0mm offset. My 285s were a little close to upper control arm but I cleared just fine wheeling. Wasn't until I got the 35s that I didn't clear the upper. If I had to pick another wheel I would pick the 3.5 backspace stealth custom series F5 to avoid spacers.

"Fit" is subjective. Theres a threshold, not enough backspace and you'll rub frame. Too much and you'll hit body. Width plays a factor as well. 4" backspace and 8" width works pretty well.

I’ve got MB’s 352 Wheels. They have a 4.5in backspacing with -12mm offset. My 285/70/17s clear everything just fine. I’ve had to trim the pinch weld and such to help at full stuff. But next time around, I’ll bump up to 295/70/17s or 285/75/17s.

If I had money to blow, I would’ve gotten the SCS Ray 10s already. They are sweet. And have perfected fit for us Yota’s.

My only experience is with the stock size 16” wheels that are original to the truck. They rub very slightly (even less with the new alignment) 285/75/r16.

If I wanted to blow money I’d get a wheel that projects the tires out around 1/2” max at each wheel well while keeping the 285/75/r16 size. Not sure how that translates into offset.

Okay, I'm all about SCS Ray 10 in matte dark bronze, 16 x 8, but apparently there's none made in that size, or none available anyway. :(

Are you committed to 16" rims? I suggest going to 17". More and better tire options with 17s. I picked up some factory 17" rims off CL for cheap. Was able to mount up a fairly tall tire with minimal lift. Fwiw

Yeah gotta follow them and wait for an inventory update. They list sizes / colors that’ll be available. But don’t slack, order right away cause they sell out quick

I agree, had to wait 6 months for the 17” bronze Stealth 6’s to be back in stock. SCS also moved to a bigger warehouse recently so they should have more inventory and quicker turnaround time between batches.

I also agree with @BestGen on going 17’s. Looks better imo with a little more wheel on a 33 or 34. You will still have plenty of sidewall.
