As the weather gets cold I switched from AC to heat but it only blows cold air.

I recently got a new radiator and transmission cooling pump. During this they flushed the radiator.

I will be replacing the thermostat soon, but I've read that there may be another problem causing this.

I'm wondering what the problem is and if any tutorials on how to fix them are out there.

Hey Rob. You may have a heater core issue.

Are you handy with basic tools?

Yes I am. I tend to do most projects with the supervision of my dad because I'm still young.

Great. Is your motor coming up to operating temperature?

Remove your heater core hoses, drain coolant, flush out.

Use some CLR (you can get it cheap at Walmart), fill up heater core and tie up hoses and let it sit for a bit. Drain and flush really good. Hook hoses back up, top off coolant after you start truck.
