Has anyone upgraded their PRO to the OEM JBL system. Just got my 19 PRO and the system is terrible.

this jbl is the worse hunk of shit in a truck in my many years of my truck ownership. My less than 300 mile 2019 Limited isn't anywhere close to being a quality OEM system. Its not loud at all. my first mod is yanking this entire ball of crap out and getting some quality components back in their place.

Here I thought it was me. I just drove my first 1300 miles in mine and 0ver 1100 was from Ohio to TX today!. I was about to ask the same question. I thought because Im so new to the truck that I need to learn it and see how it plays out. The whole ride down I'm playing with what tweaks I can do but it still sounds like a old 1980's GM Olds radio with added CD player and new bells and whistles.

The JBL system is not great at all! I have replaced everything but the head unit, that will come in time.
The JBL system is a 6" or 8" sub in a plastic enclosure that barely has any bass. All the speakers are paper

try and tune the oem system as best as you can. keep in mind that you will have to do it for each input. (bt audio, xm, cd, aux etc)

if you have Amazon prime use the amazon music store and look for "hzmp3 bass tests". (spelling is correct) if not, im sure you can find a similar album with all the freqs to test accordingly.

this album has tracks with all the bass frequencies that you can use to figure out if your subwoofer is actually doing something. through my research ive come to peace with the crappy sound when its a soundtrack. the bass tests showed that it can actually bump and rattle the tags and junk in the door and glovebox, its just not very good at blending the entire spectrum of a song and sending it to the correct speakers.

i can try and record a sound byte but dont know what will be heard by others in the neenerwebs. im not a sound engineer so i dont know much beyond volume up, fader, balance, and set bass-treble to where my deaf ass thinks it sounds great

quick note... the system only comes to life after 30 in the volume... not like many systems that between 9 and 15 you are rattling your neighbors china.

The consensus is that the JBL system sucks. You're lucky 'cause the JBL system is more expensive to upgrade. You might wanna check Taco Tunes for upgrades.

I was told that the Kenwood Apple CarPlay/Android play replacement units sound much better with the OEM speakers. I am going to give that a try as I want the smart phone mirroring for the Waze app and hands free option while playing music and being able to talk hands free as well. Having to lock yourself out of the BT mode to listen to XM GPS radio is ridiculous IMO. I may go ahead with new speakers depending on the outcome. Definitely disappointed with the sound quality. Nothing awful, just expected better.
