Need a new muzzle device...

I run Manticore arms night brakes on a lot of my rifles. Maybe not the best option for flash suppression, but they do help. And great for muzzle rise although that shouldn't be as big of concern on 5.56.

My SIL was an instructor at the Colorado School of Trades Gunsmithing school in Denver. They would make some of their own brakes but also did a test of a lot of the brakes on the market to see how effective they were for a variety of factors. I had him build me a long range rifle in 300 RUM a few years ago and based on their tests, the best brake for that rifle was a Shrewd Varmint Brake. Not sure how much the brake has to do with it but the rifle is rediculously accurate out to 1400 yards. I would definitely use one on any of my other rifles again.

 

I use the Surefire or Lantac brakes. Very easy to control and stays on target for follow up shots especially with a quick trigger like Geisselle. Now it is loud but I also use the Surefire warden and it redirects the blast in the front and not to your teammates on the side. Also convenient when going prone. Doesn't kick up dust or sand in your face anymore.

I also like the Griffon ones.

btw, I just noticed you have 2 crush washers. One is enough to time your muzzle brake.

both the surefire and Lantac Dragon brakes have flats so you can use a wrench once it's secured in a vise.

Most/many AR owners get a bit too tacticool with their weapons. Key word here is weapon. The AR, or more specifically, the M16, is a weapon. As such, all of your mods. should lend themselves to making your weapon more weapon like. Look no further than the YHM Phantom 5C2 flash suppressor.
