Instead of changing out the tires twice a year I bought a new set of wheels and tires for my truck to use for winter driving. When I researched tpms sensors I realized that they were VERY expensive compared to others that I have bought. The part number for the sensor is
42607-0C091. The cheapest I have been able to find is $58.00 each. Does anyone know where to find a better deal on these?

FYI- you have to program them each time you switch over. Either the dealer or you need tech stream. I’ve learned to live with the tpms light during the winter.

Even though each set of wheels has a sensor in each wheel?

    Viper,

I went on Rockauto.com found the TPMS sensors from $30 to $45 Not sure if you have Discount Tire stores in your state but I showed them the Rockauto price and they provided there sensors for $28 each with an 8 year warranty.

    Hope that helps

58.00 is about as cheap as it gets. Normally from the dealer they are 100.00 plus. I struggled with whether to do the 2nd set and decided against it for this reason. As stated above, running them without the sensors is a reasonable option, especially considering it was okay to do so for over a hundred years prior to their implementation.

Unless I am wrong the 2018 Tundra uses a different sensor than all other Tundras.

My last vehicle was an 03 Dakota that I bought new and drove it until March this year when I bought the Tundra. For the last umpteen years I have been staring at dash lights flashing, blinking, and burning steady in every color imaginable. I know it is petty but I don’t want to see a dash light on my truck for many, many more years.

Definitely different between Steele and alloys on the 18s. I just went though all this BS. 58 isn't bad for OEM, dealer will charge 100-110 per unit. It's a freaking racket IMO

2018+ Tundras TPMS can only be programmed at the dealer ship and its like $60 Bucks. I went through the headache when I changed out my wheels and tires. And you can only use OEM TPMS sensors.

Cheapest route just deal with the light on the dash for a few months until you put your regular set back on. And use a manual tire gauge to keep a check on your tire pressures.

I bought 5 tires from America’s Tires. They matched a price I found online. I think I told them I’d buy it if they hooked me up with some tpms. Normal price was about $60 each. I got them for $30 each.
