The trails there are 2 wheel friendly as well.. so if you don't have the HULK ready by the time we go you can bring BIG RED.
I did most of the trails on 2 wheel drive, but wanted to see what the 4x4 could do.

I love hot showers!! I vote early January. That way I can play the Birthday Card to get my family to agree, like I did last year when we did our first big SoCal trip to Anza-Borrego.

Also, late January is likely to be the big Tacoma meet at Superstition. Not that I would be planning this far in advance to go check that out. :spy:

Sounds great! I have a time-line in my head, to get "Bruce Banner" spruced up and ready to transfer the RTT over from The BFT by mid-January. Maybe this will fit right into my planning. I would prefer to do this trip in The BFT (the inferno). It is much more comfortable for the family, driving all that way on pavement.

BFT would have NO problems on most of the trails out there.
The crewmax would be the most comfortable for the road trip..
I think it'll be a 5-5.5 hr drive for you coming from SD.
Took me 4 hrs with TRAFFIC coming from Orange County while pulling a trailer. (took the 91)

    This changes everything :thumbsup::amen:

Sadly I may be in Vegas depending on the dates for this trip. (don't know the dates for Vegas yet either)

We had a group of 6..
The ARB awning and the enclosed tent option was perfect for us paired with the RTT.. (about $500 for the complete set w/o RTT)
I think we could have 2 more people and we would be comfortable.
A TT (travel trailer) would definitely be more comfortable but lots more $$..

That weekend might work well for us: kid out of school, no karate or Boy Scout conflicts..., Plus it would feel like we "did something" over his winter break. I'll check the calendar and float it by the Fam on my next days off, end of this week. :fingerscrossed:

Ha! This too soon for your truck, or holiday conflicts, or-?

We gotta get Marty and Jen out again so we can shower them with kennel gifts before the puppy arrives.

Are you sayin' you'd come down to meet in Owens Valley though-?

If its snowing.. the drive from NorCal might be a little difficult..
I'm originally from the Bay area and have made the drive to Lone Pine once.. in the snow.. NOT in a Tundra tho..

Might be too soon for the truck but hopefully not. Also my younger sister will be in town from Atlanta I believe.
I grew up in Truckee and have a set of studded 33’s.
