I know there has been lots of discussion about this topic. To help consolidate the answers maybe a poll will help with identifying how common the problems are with different types of suspension (stock settings, leveled trucks / lifted with no rake, lifted with rake)

Yes, stock suspension. It is very rare though. Hasn't happened in a few months. Seems like it is somehow resolved?

Yes, stock suspension here as well. Dealership hasn't heard of any issues.... and of course they are not able to "duplicate customers complaint" due to it is random. either I get the "BRAKE!!" alert OR the dash shows the "PCS off" icon even though the system is on. Contacted Toyota corporate, who in turn called the dealer who says they need to have their head tech look into it. Waiting to get an available appointment from the dealer. Isue still current.

Bone stock truck. PCS warning pretty much every time I drive it. Only 1,000 miles on it. It started at 400 miles and it's been a pain ever since. It's been in the shop twice and I don't think this is how a new Toyota should act. Got corporate involved but haven't heard anything since the first call over a week ago.

I have not had this issue, currently stock w/ 1000 miles. I do have King coilovers waiting to install them and plan on just lifting the front the two inches and leaving it at that. I did also order the 3d printed TSS mount and will be trying that in both stock height and after I have the Kings on.

IDEA: The problem with polls on this forum is, the only way to review results is to vote. I believe there are many of us who are interested in these results but do not have 2018's (pending this info), and would like to know. To ensure no one throws out a random answer just to see others' answers (thereby skewing your results), can you add another option, something like 'I don't have a 2018 but I am interested in this answer'? Thanks.

I had an issue with mine, but it was actually due to the BKLP fuse being blown. The neutral safety switch is part of that circuit as well, so that threw the TSS system off. The fuse blew because I had the wrong base type for the LED backup lights I installed, although they worked for several months. Something to keep in mind if it's not the typical emblem sensor issue that many other people have been having.

I didnt spend too much time researching the subject impacts or symptoms but saw this poll so thought I would report. Other than leveling the front with 6112s, my truck is stock.

My 2018 truck was built 11/17. I purchased it new just a couple of months ago (08/18) it had been sitting in inventory for quite some time and I got a great deal on it. The orange "precollision system warning/off" light started coming on every once in awhile at about 2500mi. It comes on and then goes away. It's not too concerning to me since I knew this was a common quirk with the truck and I plan to get it addressed at my 5000mile dealership appt in a month or two. It isnt impacting anything as far as daily driving except that the light is annoying as I'm OCD and I cant use cruise while it is on. Sometimes just turning the truck on and off resets it.

So happy to have this truck and not the turd gen Tacoma. This thing drives like a dream!

I had this problem in November last year. Luckily I have a good in with a toyota tech and he worked it out. There is now a recall that everyone should have gotten in the mail. Mine came back in August. I will post the number of it later.

Stock...started the second day i drove it off the lot and it happen repeatedly. Took it back in after a few day, they recalibrated/adjusted something according to service dept and it hasn't reoccurred...going on a month now daily driving. I didn't vote because they fixed it after one visit and it hasn't reoccured since (Hopefully)

Stock '19 TRDP with no error issues but signed up for the Toyota.com membership and there was a recall alert. I called them as they need to reprogram for passenger side airbag issues. Will be bringing it in for 7:00 am tomorrow morning.

Stock 2018. Happened in the rain a few times at about 5000 miles. Now that rain season is under way I'll see if it happens again and then start to complain to dealer.

Alright, I'm starting to think mine isn't malfunctioning so much as this is the way these things work. I have had a couple of "BRAKE!" false alarms, but those are really quite rare. Now the times the "PCS OFF" light has come on, I've been of the mind that the system is malfunctioning, but I'm starting to think otherwise. The times my radar has become unavailable, it has been raining and I've been driving in heavy traffic, having lots of spray kicked back up towards my truck. It doesn't happen every time I'm driving in these conditions, but the times it has happened, these are the conditions I was driving in. I think I read in the manual that water buildup on the sensor can impede radar function. So while it this seems like a very easy way for the radar to fail, I guess it makes sense. I'm not sure why they'd put a function in the truck that could be disabled so easily. Also, yesterday was a first, I got a message saying "Front Camera Unavailable, clear debris from windshield" and the PCS went off. I didn't realize there was a front camera. It was cold yesterday morning, and my windshield was covered in frost, and I have discovered there's a small camera built into the rear view mirror. After the frost melted, PCS came back online.

I think the long and short is, for those of us living in snowy environments, many of us are going to be seeing an awful lot of that yellow PCS OFF light.

If you want to use cruise control while the light is on, I figured out how you can. Normally, when the light is on and you try to set cruise, it gives you the "radar ready" message, then when you lower the lever to set the speed, it fails to engage because the radar is unavailable. Next time, press and hold the cruise control button, and after a couple of seconds, the "radar ready" message goes away, and you'll be able to use regular, non-radar cruise control.

@silverhack I will say before I swapped grilles on my truck at oem suspension height hauling a heavy load in the back of the truck would set off the PCS light especially if there was rough terrain but after a few miles and smooth road the light would go back off.

After swapping grilles and lifting the suspension with bilstein 6112/5160 the PCS radar would intermittently go off and on if there was a lot of weight on the tongue or a heavy load in the back (around a ton). Going hunting and hauling my ATV and a utility trailer with gear would do this. Especially over rough terrain above 25mph in most scenarios.

From my understanding the recall and update from toyota is supposed to give the radar more of a cushion area to alleviate the adjustment in height from setting off the PCS radar. Toyota made a system that works great on cars but when that system was installed on trucks it was not adjusted for what we use them for...

Now take this with a grain of salt but this was my experience

This is really disheartening. I am a first gen tundra owner looking to upgrade, and was all excited to purchase my first totally new truck, but after seeing this poll, where with currently over 100 responses and about a third of them are people with problems, I'm much less inclined to buy anything till it's sorted out. Toyota should either remove the whole TSS-P suite till it's ironed out, or make it an option instead of a standard feature. Guess I'll keep my eyes peeled for a leftover 2017...

Do any of you know of any issues of the 2019 TRD Pro Grille on a 2018 or 2019 (non-TRD Pro truck) with TSS?

With the factory garnish, is it just plug-and-go or is recalibrating the radar needed?

    I got one yesterday

edit: I just looked at the letter and its for a SRS airbag malfunction not the TSS radar issue
