damnit. Buying a tundra and browsing these forums can be very dangerous. So many great ideas on mods/upgrades. Just ordered my first mod which was the 6 3/4" antenna from Zach at The Antenna Source. Got a discount by calling directly and ordering. Saved me a few bucks especially considering how expensive shipping is to Canada plus the exchange rate. I know its not a huge change but looking forward to getting rid of the retro huge antenna. One question for those who have upgraded their antennas did you put any sort off loctite on the threads to protect it from being stolen? Other suggestions?

Next on list of potential updates is LED light upgrade for the interior and Tuffy center console install.

There are products out there to help with saving your shocks. Google “spray wax corrosion protection.”

Not sure if this would help but if I get time to clean up my Fuel rims I was going to use/try this to protect them from Minnesota's over salted roads and could be used to put a protective coating on the shocks
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/great-product-from-meguiars.26546/

Also you could try giving the shocks a light coat of Amsoil HD metal protector and in spring wipe them clean, not sure if it would stain.

I’ll give it a try, wish I put something on it before it went to crap, only been on about 3 years and they’re probably beyond saving ‍now
Definitely need to try something though [IMG]

They're spec'd for Quick Charge 3.0, but I didn't have any luck with my Pixel 2 XL. I suspect that's some sketchiness with Google though. I haven't tried with another QC-compatible device yet, but I'll see if I can find out more on that. Here's the link:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F84VVB4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_T533BbWSCT8N0

Edit: It appears that anything that uses USB-C won't be able to use QC, as USB-A to C gets dropped to 1A... Bummer for me, but it doesn't appear to be the charger's fault.

Installed Westin headache rack into the late night and washed and detailed her this morning. The rack fit perfectly with my rail mount rollover Mx4 with minor Change in overall rail width by using the extra washers as spacers between the rack and mounting flange. to gain 3/16-just missing the tonneau gasket. Install is easy. Just remove the fender liner half way and reach up to set the bolt by hand. No long ratchet extension needed. I use the extra Ford mount bolts and the flange is better and overall length is shorter so they don’t need trimming. LOL a benefit of the louvered rack is tailing car headlights are blocked half the time.
I used for the first time the Beadmaker protectant recommended here. Another coat tomorrow.

Applied some amsoil metal protector. Dang cleaning that underbody is a PIA. Any good ideas on how to get a good bottom wash going? It’s not super dirty. Air blow works well but it’s not perfect. I don’t have much faith in car washes. But thinking maybe a self service with a wand laying down on a creeper? Maybe wearing a wet suit

Its only been a week so I obviously haven't tested it to its full potential. So far, I'd have to say the truck has been running super smooth(er) shifting and accelerating has been really pleasant. I dont have another word to describe it. Does it feel faster? Who knows? I work graveyard so opening her up on my way home from nightshift was such a treat. No governor jutter! And what's weird is I actually did notice a 2 mile per gallon increase in my MPG. So my 70MPH cruise control setting has been changed to 16mpg from 14. Stoked about that.

Whats kinda weird tho is the truck sounds a bit quieter if that makes any sense. I'm not even trippin on that tho. I prefer the quiet drive. I did all that loud crap when I was a teeanger.

So this is for all the other height-challenged Tundra folks whose trucks are lifted. Hopefully you have already done the driver side grip handle mod so you acn stop using the steering wheel to get in!

But as you may have already noticed...the handle is now higher than the bottom of the steering wheel so what was the point of installing it if you wanted to stop using the steering wheel??

My solution: Get the biggest dog collar you can find at the pet store...

    IMG_2508.jpg

That is how it is when i bought it, so all you need to do is sinch the collar as close to its detach buckle point as possible...

    IMG_2509.jpg

As you can see, you made not only a loop to grab, but a loop to attach to your grip handle.

    Unbuckle the collar:

    IMG_2510.jpg

Put the open end of the buckle around your driver side grip handle and the collar will hang down long enough to grab, then use the loop to pull yourself up...

    IMG_2401.jpg

You are now comfortbaly in your cab ready to go. I would strongly suggest taking off the collar as you drive as this will likely get in the way of steering. But in case you are on the trails, you can use the strap to hold on to:

    IMG_2415.jpg

    IMG_2417.jpg

    I hope this helps!

JK. This is money, or should I say Monet... I freaking love this idea, very innovative.
Idk if I'd use it for getting in and out but I think it's a great idea as far as a place to rest your arm on long drives. For me, holding the grab bar is just a little uncomfortable. It's slightly too far away. I used to hold my handle all the time in my taco, it had 2, one on the pillar and one above the door. I just added the grab bar to my tundra and I may go out and get something like this to add to it, especially for long drives. Thanks Monet!!!
