I am new here just wanted to share what's going on.
I have a 18 that would connect to my flat bed trailer just fine but wouldn't connect to my airstream with electric over hydraulic brake system. After convincing my dealer it wasnt the trailer he ran it up the flag pole.....tried 3 new trucks none of them worked. Looks like they know there is a problem with the new system just not enough people complaining. To fast track a fix. So I am using a wireless system that goes inline until they come up with a fix. Apparently they do have engineer's and the manufacturer of the system working on a fix but it's not a high priority. Just another heads up to check your brake system even if you don't use it regularly.......it may not work when you need it. The more people who point this out to them the faster they will get a fix out.

It's all related to the signal from the controller and the way it acknowledges the trailer. The truck doesn't even acknowledge it being there even though all the lights work. It seems to be a problem with the EOH systems.
    That's some good info though

Well after many months and a bunch of engineers one even coming to my home to perform test on my trailer and truck. They have come up with this solution. And to my bewilderment it works. My truck acknowledges the trailer with this dongle installed and the brakes work.
Still a few minor adjustments will be needed to perfect it...... I think we are onto some good progress here. If you have a hydraulic over electric brake system this seems to be the answer at this point.
Just cover Ford Chevy sticker with a Toyota one.

So does that go between the controller and the wiring harness or on the trailer side?

On the trailer side.....I cut the connector off and tied it into the blue and white wires. It creates some sort of feed back so the truck knows its there........ down side is you will have to install one of these on any trailer you cannot communicate with. So hopefully when I speak with them this week and let them know it's working. They can come up with a fix for the trucks. I found it makes the brakes pulse when you apply them hard. That's better than nothing at this point.......like I said before a few bugs to work out still.

I think if you were to wire it in on the truck side your truck would always think its connected to a trailer. I will be asking that question.

The problem with the no trailer brake symbol is the the trailer braking system u have to go to vehicle settings and select what type of trailer braking system u want to use it gives u 3 options off 0 to 4999 or 5000 plus select the right one for the type of trailer u r pulling I have the 2018 Tundra

Problem (was) is that the system won't let you access that function till it acknowledges a trailer on the truck. My car hauler that is a standard electric brake system worked fine trailer icon came up every time. But wouldn't with my EOH system Seems to be an issue with the EOH systems. With this dongle installed it creates a feed back so my truck knows its there.then I can go through the set up process.
