What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

So I'm thinking you could use the guts from the camry key but you would need to get a chip and a new key blade. The key blade would need to be cut for tundy ignition. The transponder would need to be programmed to your truck recognizes the key and will start. I think the easiest route would be to buy a cheap key off of eBay but you have to make sure it's a G key transponder so it can be programmed to your truck.

 

How did you end up blacking out the steering wheel emblem?

 

When I changed to the leather steering wheel I removed the center chunk which contains the airbag. I taped everything off the best I could and Plastidipped it. PD allows you to peel away around emblem and inside it with the help of a toothpick like doing exterior emblems (see Youtube vids).

I used this primer and paint on the plastics after sanding them down. The vent rings are only primed to give them a matte look.

Ah. At least it’s just abs wire. Not the hardline.

 

No additional wiring. All plug and play. Very simple and straight-forward. You get the turn signal indicators and running lights on the mirrors without having to mess with any wiring.

 

So I temp fixed the Xmas tree....and in the process found my hard line pinched as well. New wire harness and hard line to be installed upon my return.

 

My tundra and I got some time to bond as we waited for AAA to come give us a jump start. Super cool dude with a meter tested my battery, 6 volts while cranking. He didn’t have cables though. AAA confirmed battery sucks. Going to try and find a Northstar or X2power today for a replacement. You would think in the Wash DC area someone would have one in stock.

What jump packs are people using, our last one quit years ago and thinking of getting another.

Everyone asked why I drove an hour (25 miles) each way to get a battery for my truck. Because....Tundra!

Is this a conincidence, did I stumble upon some mystical new upgrade? My MPG went up a whole gallon! One could hope, but it won’t last long.

 

Maybe because the battery was disconnected?

 

Seeing 17.7 amazes me I’m getting 13mpg

 

I have this grille and love it. It is plastic, so don't expect it to be super durable, but for the price it's not bad. I've had mine for almost a year now and it still looks new. One of these days I'll figure out a way to take the insert out and stick it to my OEM surround.

 

What color hood bulge did you go with?

It's plasti dipped black, same with my bumper ends. Eventually I'll be color matching everything.

Still stuck on tires though... can't quite decide if I want to play it safe and keep the drive-ability and go with 275/65R20's or go as big as I can with the 285/65R20's...
Anyone running the 2.5 frt lift with 285s on stock wheels?

A bunch of us run 285 or better on stock pros. There is a wheel and tire thread I am positive will answer every and any question you have. Welcome from MA!

 

U won't forget, I checked them in the beginning and since dont feel need. I'll look in there just to make sure theres no gap. I only checked them after the first 3-5k.

 

I have BORA 1". Rechecked torque after 3k & been fine since.

 

That makes me feel better..im pumped about the new look but petrified a tire is gonna roll past me on the highway hahah.

 

You use loc tight on yours?

 

Yea I thought that too. Never was a fan of spacers but if you want to keep the stock rims its almost required. Steven at Wheelers Off Rd assured me they would be fine after proper torque at install & recheck after some milage.
All lugs were still spot - on @ 3k.
