Stock for now, but have TRD Rear Sway bar for it.
So I went through 44 pages of posts on the tire and wheel guide and couldn't come up with an answer, however I saw tons of bad ass trucks, wheels and tires.

I have a 2012 Platinum with a new 5100 lift (middle). I have 20" wheels and think I just wanna get new tires, not wheels and tires. Have 275/55r20 Bridgestone's now. So I am thinking either 275/60r20 or maybe 275/65r20. I am thinking 33's will be great, but maybe 34's better.

What is the best size tire for all around use for this truck on 20" wheels. Thank you.

Depends how much lift the middle setting got you. I don't think the 34's will fit without trimming unless you put on top setting.

Front is 38 1/2 ground to bottom of wheel well. I got 2 1/2 inches of lift. I am thinking 275/60R20's, but wanna be sure is all.

Did you end up picking a tire? What mods did you do to get it to fit?

I have not. Well, I have not purchased a tire yet, but I am leaning towards 275/65R20's most likely in BFG KO2's. I am also interested in the Falken, Cooper and Atturo, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. The Bridgestone Dueler's that are on my truck have worn very well, although I am not sure of the mileage on them.

I have 275/60/20 Michelin defenders on zero lift. They are 33" and fit no problem. From the looks I could maybe have fit the 65 Michelin defender but who knows. The 33s look good but 34 would look better. Issue is the side lug aggressiveness of the bfgs. I would think they would rub somewhere, where as my tires are not aggressive so they seem to not be as wide if that makes sense

I'm afraid if I do 33's, I will be disappointed and mad I didn't do 34's. I am not going wider for the exact reason you say. I was thinking 285/60R20's, but they are almost $100 a tire more expensive. My neighbor works at Discount so I am hoping he will hook me up a little.

You need a bit more lift to fit the 65’s. With a 3/2 I still had to trim the front wheel well piece behind the fogs. But that was it. I have 285/65/20’s though, not 275’s.

I have 275/65 and I'm running +3/2 lift. My wheels have +25 offset and I still needed to trim the plastic and lose the mud flaps up front... very minor shop work, and I have no rubbing. You will not regret the 34" look. If you are on stock wheels, you will probably not need as much trimming, but you will need to be at the highest lift setting. IMG_20180123_093332~3.jpg

Biggest issue I've found is the 275/65r20 tires are about $100 more a tire than the 275/60r20. If you put the miles on that can add up.

So if I'm reading the past few posts right, using 2015 stock platinum wheels (-60 offset), 275x65r20, and minimally a 3/1 lift, everything should fit fine with exception of minor trimming? Even after market UCA's won't cause issues? Really like the look of toyotoholic setup!

That's sounding right to me. I removed both front mudflaps already and the plastic front inner bumper liner too. I have seen other posts where people are running them without a lift or a very minimal lift. I think I should be okay, if not I will add another coachbuilder shim to each side. I don't wanna move the spring to the highest position on the 5100's, too much compression.

@Toyotoholic, would you mind sharing your height measurements at your fenders? Also, we're you not able to use a heat gun to mold the plastic vs trim?

275/65R20 BFG k02's on stock 08 Limited rims. Roughly 2" lift in the front, a TRD pro skid plate and the front flaps removed = no clearance issues

Yes, the wider you go then the control arms come into play. My wheels are a +18 wth the 285’s. You will most likely be good with the stock wheels and the OEM 275 size.

Awesome! Really like the utilitarian look and function! No issues with drastic approach angles in forward or reverse (IE steep driveway from flat road)?

I know I'm late on this but instead of removing both front mud flaps and plastic front inner bumper liner / minor trimming .... see this youtube vid at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnNK4gy9B_4 you could skip to 16:45. This guy installed 3/4" spacers to move the bumper forward and kept from removing anything. Looks like a good idea. Thoughts? Note, with 33's your MPG won't change much but with 34's MPG and braking will change a bit.

I used CB bumper spacers as well... 1/2" makes a lot of room.

I have a great shop in the area that does all the aftermarket mods for the local dealerships. They put 4" lifts and 35s on all day, so their master "yota" tech has super clean, trim and heat mold technique that literally takes about 30min to do that part of the mod. You would think nothing was done and there's plenty of room. I'll try and get the #'s for the tire-to-fender measurement for you too.
