Hey all! Seems like there are a fair amount of Montanan's lurking about! Figured I'd start a thread and see where things go! Perhaps a meet & greet is in order with enough interest.

Have a place in Columbia Falls.... Looking for some light trails for the Tundra. Usually go down North Fork road and branch off which is awesome. Anyone else have any local area trails in the area?

I have been considering moving out there lately. California is just not the place for me. What is a decent place over there to move to where there are decent job opportunities and not too high of housing market?

Hungry horse reservoir. Go across the dam, and follow the road for a few miles. Take the first right onto a dirt road. If you get to the boat launch, you've gone too far. It's about 12-15 miles to the top.
Here's a pano I took about half way up:

Have you made the trek around Hungry Horse Reservoir. Will eat up the better part of a day.
Also for another great ride go through Martin City and take the Left up the Mountain road to the Lookout.

Don't live there any more but was there for a few years. Helped run an RV park outside of Glacier NP.

Have you been to the PoleBridge Merc? If so continue on past there and you will find some great trails that will eventually lead you back around to Whitefish.

Montana is horrible for retirement, taxes are really high and the people are hostile. Look elsewhere to move, many better places like Wyoming etc.

People are hostile? Maybe it was due to use being visitors, but all the people we spoke to while there were welcoming.

Sign me up. I've been eyeing this 70k acre ranch. I'm just short about $28.6 million.

I like other people, but I like them even more when they're very far away.

You pretty much wouldn't see me from September until February if I lived there. I'd be out with the dogs chasing birds every day if I did.

Anybody know of some light trails near Great Falls or within about an hour (maybe near Augusta)? Been itching to take the truck for some off roading but need some suggestions.

Any interest in a Montana meet? Somewhere with some trails to be had that can be tackled by stock/near stock trucks? I'm in Great Falls, willing to travel!

Sounds fun. Haven't been to Bonsai for a bit. Usually Backslope or Scared Waters.

Shizzer, I haven't been to Backslope in a minute....Me and the wife tried out Gunsight in CFalls for lunch a fews weeks ago, damn the food portions are huge and it was probably the best Guiness on tap I have had around this area.
