I couldn't find this solution anywhere, so I fabricated it myself!! I use a laptop in my truck often, and frequently need to run power tools. I can run a grinder from my dash! No more renting generators!

I have a Samlex 1500w inverter under my seat and wired to the battery through a solenoid so it only draws power when the ignition is on. I have two plugs in the inverter and a wire run to behind the dash and then connected to the plugs I designed the plate to fit.

    For the build process:

    Parts:
    2 gauge wire (for a 1500w inverter)
    115V wire
    Epoxy
    2x 2 gauge lugs
2x battery terminals (to allow extra connections)
    1x AMG Fuse holder
    1x 200 amp fuse
    1x Solenoid (High current relay) - part# 24213
    1x inverter
    2x outlet plugs
1x stainless steel dash plate with included snap-in outlets

Install inverter (depending on size and application, choose a location appropriately and according to the installation instructions for the inverter). Mine is under the drivers seat.

Run 2 gauge wire (required for the size of my 1500w inverter - size wire appropriately) from neg terminal directly to the neg terminal on the inverter.

Add 2 gauge wire to pos terminal then 200A fuse.

Continue 2 gauge from fuse to isolation solenoid, mine is installed on the firewall. Isolation solenoid is powered by ignition feed source and grounded locally.

From the isolation solenoid, run 2 gauge wire to the pos terminal of the inverter. For my install, I have 115V wire (x2) with socket outlets plugged into the inverter under the seat, that then runs behind the dash at the install point. A hole was drilled through the back of the panel to feed the 115V wires through. The wires from the outlets that fit my stainless steel plate were fed through the plate opening and snapped into place. Wires from the outlets are connected to 115V wires from the inverter. Epoxy was spread onto the dash surrounding the lighter plug ins, and the plate was fitted over the lighter plug covers (while lighter plugs were open) and pushed into place bottom side first.

Some Mods :) See build thread for details
For the build you should go into details of where and how you connected up the inverter and plugs. Any other purchases you had to make to complete the install like wire, connectors, etc.
