I was wondering what lbs spring to go with when I change suspension. Seemed like 600 could be a bit soft at times. What a killer set up you have. I would have thought on road ride would be stiff.

If it’s too stiff you have the compression adjusters ! For on road I set everything to the softest setting !

I went with 600 because I don’t plan on a front winch as I like my Nfab front bumper. It’s light and I have great approach angles. Plus I have front and rear lockers. If that and 2 sets of Maxtrax can’t get me thru or over an obstacle, then I have no business being there in the first place.

So got a few questions. One. Since I just did Kings all the way around with 2” lift with leaf springs with no shims and stock shackles do I keep the CB carrier bearing drop kit in place or remove it? Two. I never received instructions on the Alcan Springs and nothing that stated if there is a left or right spring. Is there a difference in left I right and if so, if you have alcans which way is the bolt and nut supposed to be facing on the actual leafs? Mine is installed like this. Bolt is facing into the truck with the nut on the differential side with the Alcan log on the rear of the truck. Last but not least. How long am I supposed to wait before going off road? I know after 50 miles the ubolts need to be retorqued and once again at 500 miles. D3663814-509A-4523-A419-9FA993FEE884.jpg

So I found an easy way to adjust the Kings in front without removal of shocks and not dangerous. I removed the top nut on the SPC UCA and moved it out of the way, removed the reservoir and let it hang and attached the two shock compressors and only compressed them enough to allow for the ring to move fairly easy. Was even able to use the crap punch without breaking it. $54 on Amazon for the compressors. Hope this helps someone. I didn’t want to remove the shock to adjust it. Now, does anyone know if the shocks will settle and by how much in your experience so I can adjust it once? Right now I have it lifted where I am 24” from fender to center of hub where king said was the ideal height, but if the shocks settle say 1/2” then I’m back to 23 1/2” and have to lift it again. Doing an alignment tomorrow and want to get it where I want it to be before hand. How many threads are you showing with 600lbs springs? I’m at 9 on passenger now and 9 1/2 on the drivers and I’m even height. BC76D91C-7E08-410E-8D0D-F016C1AFF3A3.jpg

8 threads passenger side and 13 driver side. It did settle every time i adjusted so I had to do it twice. first I think I was 8 and 11 then second time 8 and 13. now it's good.
then again I did change rear leaf pack and shackles at the same time so I was changing a lot of the suspension.

I loosened damn near everything and retorqued it all twice already after the install of everything. The cams were already marked from the last alignment. I’ve messed with them before to see if I could adjust the caster to clear the 35s and it worked, but I put it back just in case. When I did that my camber was off and had too much negative camber. We’ll see if the dealership can get it to the specs I ask for. I will post the results tomorrow. So I guess I’ll leave it since it’s level right now at 24” and see how it goes.

Damn. That’s a big difference. Not sure why I don’t have the lean that most people do, but I won’t complain. So sounds like I will be readjusting soon then.

I asked on the site about breaking in suspension and found the paperwork from Alcan. I knew I read it somewhere during my install. So just a heads up if you changed out your leafs recently. 7E1B671E-2A7A-4540-86C5-3EC37F44998E.jpg

So after a month of nonsense with the dealership I finally got my truck back after the camshaft tower leak fixed and water pump was replaced at the same time. Also got the alignment done twice because of the SPC rectangular washers were not in the slots. The truck drives great. Was wondering what do people think about my alignment results? Are they good enough? It’s drives in a straight line and no rubbing. Just asking cause they had two chances at it and want to see if they did a good job.EBABE33F-E222-4C02-A419-C98C7360E8E8.jpg
