Again, one of my biggest gripes with Toyota and continuity among their model line up. My 2016 4Runner Trail had all 4 passenger and the tailgate window as auto up/down. You could press unlock on the key 3 times and hold it, and all 5 would roll down.

Yep, sound like it might be part of the alarm system. I wonder if the door switches will have to be replaced to the 2018 limited model.

I am wondering if i would be able to just switch the window switches to the one touch and have that work? Just like the two front windows.

That would be nice but i highly doubt that it would be that simple. I was reading something about having the module installed in the door and wired up to the door switch harness. There was also talk about running a separate line to the module that is in the door, i figured that would be too much to mess with and not a simple solution like id like.

After reading the company's website, it doesn't appear that alarm system is required. The only thing that you need the alarm FOB for is to REMOTELY open or close the windows. The driver's door switch will auto up/down with or without the alarm system.

    Stock, for now
I have owned my Tundra for several days and this is one of the cons I find, not to mention the akward antena, ripper key and no alarm. My 2011 Pathfinder had it and it was very convenient. Would like to see auto up/ down options. Any member has done this upgrade?

I had a Directed Electronics on my '05 Tacoma and it worked up until i traded it in. About 12 years. It worked very well and can be used with alarm systems to operate the windows remotely. It does take some wiring as you have to get to the door switches and route the wires to the unit.

Even if they did, why would they care. The only time any company cares is if it hits their profits :D the second people stop buying, they'll raise an eye brow and change.

Until then,.. keep trucking along. There's plenty of customers willing to accept whatever is given even if they complain.

The Directed device will control 2 windows so if your fronts are already auto you only need to order one Directed device.

Correct. The front 2 windows are auto. If you want to add that capability to the rear you need that device.

Used to install these modules when I was in the car audio business. If the car we were installing in had a small wire boot we would install the module in the door and when we did wrapped the module in plastic and taped it up....Last thing you want is that box getting moisture in it.

Along with the Directed Electronics 536T Power Windows do you have to buy the "Directed Electronics DB3 All-in-One Door Lock & Override Module" as well?
