Tossed on some 295/70’s after I had pretty uneven wear on my 285/70’s .. front driver side tire was bald on the interior, all other tires were good??.. anyways, the 295’s were less than 1/8” from hitting my UCA’s. Pretty sure they hit in some instances when I was on rough roads.

Ordered a set of Spidertrax 1.25” spacers and installed them yesterday. I love the stance it gives the truck. I rub the mudflaps at full lock, which I hate because it’s muddy as shit right now and I don’t want to take them off, but I may have to. The handling of the truck feels nice since installing them, however I get a pretty nice vibration when going 50-70mph ... this bothers me. I’ve read multiple threads of similar issues and I’ve ruled it to either

    • Tire balance issues - even though these 295’s are brand new

    • Alignment issue - the uneven wear on my front tire which prompted me to buy new ones is a clear indicator of this, I just don’t have time to get in to get an alignment done right now and every shop in west Texas is overrun with oilfield trucks right now. I go home in a few weeks and will get this done ASAP

    • Rust/grime on surface of install - I used a wire brush and cleaned the surface as good as I could before installing the spacers, however my trucks got 120k miles and it was pretty dirty. I think this would be the least plausible factor, but something to consider nonetheless
I aim to fix the vibration issue as soon as I can. I am just not sure if I should leave them on until I can get an alignment. The vibration is noticeable, but not a real considerable amount.

No comment on the bumper, but are the Spacers huh centric and wheel centric? I imagine if you’re getting vibration only after the install, then it’s the spacers causing it.

Also I just put some aftermarket mud flaps on because I too was rubbing in the front. They do not run at all and add more coverage. We’re only about $25

No mall crawling here amigo, hence bumper.

I’d like to think it’s that simple, but that means I wasted my money and they won’t work. I don’t like that answer. I’ve read that the spacers amplify balance/alignment issues so will look there first.

Which flaps did you get? Do you have pictures?

Try switching some wheels around mounting them in a different location. See if that changes anything. You might be able to just trim the front mudflaps and push the fender liner in with the new hole and bolt. There is a write up around here somewhere.

The spidertrax are wheel and hub centric.

Okay. And that’s with the factory wheels?

You can adjust how you mount the guards. My setup is a little more aggressive than yours so you can mount them further in which will look a little better imo

    Yeah factory TRD Pro wheels.

I’m hoping it’s alignment/balance issue.. I’ll report back after I get that taken care of but it will be a week or two, I’m swamped at work and shorthanded.

The shaking could be the added weight of the front bumper and need for an alignment since the added weight has changed the front end dynamics. Wheel balance is also key, as well as seating of the spacers properly with torque. All of these add to the dynamics of the front end. Suspension, upper control arm/lower control arm angles after weight, lift, suspension changes. Chances are it is just the tires/wheels balance, but honestly that bumper looks massive, heavy and could host some of the issues. Start with a good wheel balance, an alignment, and re-torque of the spacers. I ran spacers for the last 8 years on my Toyota's and never an issue.

Yessir I agree! I chose this bumper over others because it was actually around 75-100lbs lighter than the others I was looking at. It was around 150lbs.

I think alignment will do me a world of good, I just need the time to get in and get it done. Will report here after

Do these mount on factory holes or did you have to drill new ones? Have pretty much identical set up as yours and thinking about getting a set.

Factors holes. Just gotta drill the flaps where you want them once you pick your positioning. And I added one additional screw. So 3 total
