I love Raptors, I don't love the look on the current generation though. If they had a v8 option (and preferably not the 5.0 which is a car engine like the Tacoma v6) I might've dropped the extra 20k on it versus my Tundra.

After hitting 40,000 miles, the Raptor began complaining with a noisy, ill-shifting transfer case. The dealer replaced a damaged shift fork, the clutch assembly, and a handful of other worn internal parts under warranty-a fix that took a week.

Very good review. The Raptor ain’t perfect but it’s a badass truck. Also blew my mind the first time I took it out for high-speed desert trail running.

No Raptor Ranger for North America!?!?! Boooo Ford Boooo. I would have liked the big 8 cyl Raptor, lotsa grunt, but the little Eco-snot ones no doubt will need new mills in short order and I prefer the longevity of a NA 8. Cool looking though.

I wish Toyota would put some BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 rubber on the TRD PRO. 4D920FCA-7D3C-4793-849C-72E83919084D.jpg

    Great. Another Craptor thread.

Meh. I had KO2's on my Tundra for about 40,000. I have run BFG's for many years, but switched over to Nitto after my experience with the KO2. They performed ok, and lasted a while, but were noisy as hell. So bad that I was sure that I had something wrong with my front diff.

Always good to hear someone’s own personal experience. I'll keep that in mind. I’ve been a Toyo MT guy for years now.

Funny, I heard the newer K02 were very quiet compared to the older version.

I have had both the of BFG KO and KO/2 on my 12 DC it is a great tire but as the miles past 30/35k mark they got very loud.

Mine started out quiet. As they wore, the were wearing a bit more on the outside edges, and they got extremely loud - a nice "whomp whomp whomp whomp" coupled with what sounded like a metalish grind. I swore it was something in the diff - even went so far as to break into it and replace the driver's side needle bearing with an ECGS bushing after researching topics that complained of a sound somewhat like what I thought I was hearing. When that didn't work, I finally took some advice from someone to swap tires with another Tundra to rule out the tires. So, I swapped with a friend who had a 2012 CM Rock Warrior with the original BFG KO tires. Truck was quiet again. Same thing now with my new Nitto Ridge Grapplers - nice and quiet (well, relatively speaking - the Ridge Grapplers are a bit noisier than any stock tire, but they really aren't too bad).

Thanks for the feedback. I'm still on the fence for my next tire buy which won't be for a few more months but the BFG has been high on the list.

I have a set off Ridge grapplers 285/70/18. Went on a 400 mike road trip the day after with my family and they last the wife test. Only have had them for about 1k miles so can’t give long term review just yet, I will rotate every 5k like always and we shall see. Have been on fire trials in the New Jersey Pine Barrens, no crazy off-roading, the trials are sugar sand and the tires worked great. 44D260DC-3259-45E9-AE35-A94677C5499F.jpg Picture of the fire trials
