Has anyone had any luck wiring an aftermarket radio replacing the Fujitsu 86120 in a 2006 Tundra? I have a harness from Crutchfield to bypass the factory amp and a Metra harness from HiFi Sound Connection and nothing (except the long wire in the bypass kit) fits what I've got. Apparently, if you don't have an OEM radio, you're out of luck?

Yes it can be done the amplifier should be under the passenger side rear seat. The harness runs up the center on the passenger side of the truck and has a plug right at the base of the center console. The last one that I did I had to bypass the amp in order for anything to work. What part numbers do you have?

GavinG83, I'm installing a new head unit in my 2006 tundra, I have the same amp under the rear passenger seat. If you don't mind me asking, how did you bypass that amp and what did you have to do in order to do it. I cut the harness connectors coming out of the dash and started wiring from there so I don't know if I have screwed it up by doing that.

ok first remove the bolts that hold the amp in place this will allow you to get easier access and gain some much needed storage. Unplug the 2 plugs that go into it. Plug in the Metra harness. If you have a multimeter set it to ohms and test each pair of speaker wires white, white/Black gray, gray/black green, green/black purple, purple/black. Run the harness up to the dash after you make sure the speakers are good. I usually remove the center console to do this it makes it easier to run it under the carpet.

So far backup camera with rear view mirror
I am new to this forum and having a hard time with the replacement of the stock head unit with an aftermarket JVC Media player, 2006 Tundra Extended Cab base stereo system, Not the JBL one.
I have purchased 3 different adapters to connect to the stock harness but none of the them work, the stereo works but no sound.
Last weekend, I check under the rear's passenger side and found what appears to be an small stock factory amp. If I purchase the above, metra 70-8117, where does that adapter plugins.
I am also considering replacing the stock speakers with something a bit better, if that is the case do I still need the adapter, the metra 70-8117?.

Thank you all for your help.
