Man if you don’t mind the drive up north to Centralia that kit would have only cost you 1k. I get most my Toyota parts from them and they are cheap. No tax too for Oregon buyers.

Is there anyone in the south bay area(Redondo/Hermosa Beach) that has this set up? I figured I would call the dealer to see if they have any in stock but it is always nice to talk to a real life person with the experience of having the mod. Any cons to it, besides the cost? Drone in cab, setting off car alarms, wakes the kids when leaving for work in the early am, people looking at you with jealous eyes...? Any help is much appreciated!

For those of you who installed by yourself, did you need any jacks/stands/ramps, etc.? Wondering if I can just crawl underneath or if I should grab a couple cheap ramps from O'Reillys? I tried searching through the multiple install threads but didn't see this mentioned anywhere. Also, are hand tools okay? I'm sure I don't need one but talking myself into buying a Milwaukee M12 ratchet, it'll be used eventually! Truck only has 1500 miles on it so I'm hoping everything comes off relatively easily. Thanks!

You can do it laying on the ground. Back when I did my 2007 I borrowed a buddy's lift so I didn't have to do that. The only other specialty tool you might consider is an exhaust hangar pliers to get the oem exhaust off the existing hangers. A little dawn dish soap helps the new ones slide on easy. #ProTip

Awesome, thanks for the tip! I'll call around some of the local auto shops and see if they have any exhaust hanger pliers. I've heard quite a few people found them online for cheap but I'm impatient and hoping to install on Friday.

I wish you were located in LA, San Jose is a little too far.

Anybody else out there have a TRD exhaust in the LA area? Possibly semi-close to Redondo?

    Installed my dual exhaust today!!
Sounds and feels soooooo much better than stock
Was able to use my neighbor's lift and get the truck up in the air.

Thanks again for the install thread, took about an hour and fifteen minutes start to finish.
The tail pipes are sitting at the same height, new truck = new rubber hangers!

@Netmonkey I just wanted to say thank you for the awesome write up! I installed my exhaust this morning and everything went smooth thanks to your detailed instructions. I installed it myself in the garage and your rope idea to sling the muffler was absolutely a life saver. Thanks! I probably could have used the stock hanger (1600 Miles) but figured I do it right the first time.

I’m really liking it so far. Just enough so you can hear it but not too loud. Love the sound at start up too!

Now I need to figure out what to do with the stock set-up. Keep it or try to sell it. Is there a market for stock exhaust? If so how much should I sell it for? Not looking to get a whole lot...

Haha okay, I figured as much. I might just take the chrome tip off and see if anyone wants that. The rest may just go to the dump. Thanks.

Was gonna do it myself but for only 100 and a week a rain in the forecast I’d figure to just pay it and save myself laying down in the wet.

I have a couple questions for the OP, first I would like to say thank you for the post. Why not install new gaskets for the convertor to muffler flanges, removing all possibilities of leaks and 2 would a new passenger side rubber hanger piece maybe fix the issue of one pipe being lower than the other, I ask all this because I just got a 2018 Tundra Platinum and am going to do this install very soon, I have already looked up the gasket kit I mentioned for the convertor and a new drivers side rubber, please let me know your thoughts, thank you.

Welcome from San Diego. The TRD kit comes with new gaskets so no need to purchase additional. As for the hangers, I would recommend purchasing a new one. It also helps to have a friend hold the tail pipe in place while you tighten it. I was able to get mine just about perfectly even that way. Good luck with the install, follow the OPs write up and you’ll be good to go.
