Just remembered the carrier bearing and u-joint replacement are coming up as prevent maintenance, too. OEM carrier and 2 rear prop spider joints add up to $300. Labor is $100 for spider joints pressing if I take it to heavy rig shop.

Never ending, but better than a $600 month truck payment!

Looking forward to getting Antique License Tags in 2 years and zero prop taxes!

Exactly what I said the the parts guy at Toyota after paying for 600 worth of parts. Cheaper than a payment.

I've been thinking about the damn nuts that were once welded to the tabs by my lower arms. The ones that hold the skid plate, they separated from the tabs.

Since I'm pulling the lower arms out tomorrow I think I'm going to get a hold of a nutsert tool and pop a few nutserts in. Might have to drill the hole out a bit to fit a decent sized one in. Seems like the smartest way to handle it.

    Rear OEM mufflers prices.

Cali vs. the rest of the Union prices. Check out the disparity on the center muffler. Wow!

Damn. I'd go to a custom exhaust shot and get a full car back for that price.

Wow it's just a y pipe and a resonator. If I knew they were THAT much I would have kept mine and sold it half price!

Wait it's the same part number

The local stealership here wants 25-35% more than the above prices! Nothing is in stock here (money area). Means its best to just have it shipped to front door from this online store above. Compiling schematics now and going to decipher school to learn the stealership part codes for the smaller gaskets/bolts parts numbers.

The little gaskets on the y pipe are obscenely expensive from Toyota. The fiber donut ones.

My truck is originally from AZ and had the resonator, I thought Cali native Tundras had a 3rd cat instead but that part number suggests otherwise.

My manual specifies that the center muffler is a catalytic converter (its not from CA). Saw it the other night. Will need to go back and double check.

‘P’ and ‘D’ lamps just arrived. Now I’ll know what gear I’m in!

    $20 for both lamps.

Also, was researching loose side windows/window rattle and the search took me over to Taco world site. Those guys were saying to tighten up the side bolt on the door jamb (connects to inside vert window track). Sure enough, its made the door shutting ‘sound’ more solid. Haven’t test driven yet so not sure fully. Sure sounds better when shutting which many Taco guys were saying was one thing they noticed also.

Carefull to not over tighten bolt. Some guys broke the bolt flange on the inside and had to then take off door panel!

Mine only took a 1/4 turn slowly! 10mm

Tested windows and they are much sturdier now. Such a simple fix. 10 seconds per door.

Tested the pass side door switch (broken for years) by swapping it with drivers side (working) and determined switch is bad.

Must be tested with switch and 10mm fully screwed in (proper ground). upload_2018-10-20_18-34-49.jpg

Spent 3k so far and another 16k or so to get it where I want it. Cheaper if I build my bumpers.

Wow! And I thought I was over-investing in mine, except you guys are doing mods/fabs custom stuff which is $$$ compared to me doing OEM maintanence stuff. You guys make me feel better.

Sitting at $5k now. This additional $1800 is the stopping point!

Not bad if I weight out not really spending or doing anything for the past 6 years to her outside of fluids and small maintenance.
