Hoping people still look at this thread from time to time, I have an 05 Double Cab, recently purchased a 2.5/1 leveling kit and I would like to run the 285/70R17 tires. But my question is, I don’t quite have the funds for wheels just yet, so will I rub with my factory wheels?
Secondly, if I go against my better judgment and get spacers, how much will they affect?

    So 295 60 20 were too big?

    Too much tire?

Hi everyone. Long time Tundra owner (9 years now), first time posting. I know I need to post up some pics of my current ride, and I promise I will :-}. Currently running some Fuel Krank wheels on my '08 Crewmax, which I love dearly. Been in deliberation about trading it in for a '18 Limited. Looking at the OP on this thread, it looks like despite having the same bolt pattern, the hubs on the new one would have a .5mm larger center than the '08 hubs. So I guess I'm wondering if I can use the existing Fuel wheels on the new one (if I trade), and if so, I'm assuming I would need to have them milled out another .5mm. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm sure everyone knows the cost of aftermarket wheels and tires

You have a lift? How much trimming did you have to do?

    Trimmed the skidplate
Barely rubs the sway bar at full lock

Removed front bumper flaps.....doesn’t rub anywhere else

Have about 1/2” of clearance on the UCAs......never had any concern about it

Hey guys. 2010 tundra. 4" tuff country lift.
17" method double standard wheels. 0 offset. 35x12.5 nitto Terra grappler g2.

Tiny bit of rubbing on bumper liner. I just took it out until I have more time to take the heat gun to it. But no rubbing on the longer mounting points.
On an incline nose up, at full lock I get the smallest tiny bit of rub on the cab mount. On level ground it looks like I've got about 1/16 clearance at full lock.
I think a solid whack with a big hammer would take care of it without having to do cmc.

Here’s a pretty good shot showing the poke of this particular wheel and tire setup. Details in sig

I’m running 285x70x18 on factory TRD wheels. No rubbing. Had to remove the small mud flap attached to the bumper.
I have lifted to front 2 inches.
I am now running spacers and barley rub the mud flag on passenger side in reverse at hard lock. And I mean barely...

I thought of going with that size if I had stayed with 18" wheels. I'm running 285/75/17s, which are roughly the same size, and about 2" of lift as well. I noticed jacklduffy says his is an ' 05, though, so I don't know the fitment limitations on the 1st gen Tundras.

For those with the 5.7L and 295/70/18 on stock TRD wheels; are you feeling the loss of power from the added weight of the tires? Do you wish you had went with 285s instead? I got to pick tires with black friday in a few weeks and I am miserable over these two choices.

    *side note* I have a 2016 4x4 CM with JBA UCA installed and 6112 @ 1.9" setting.

I have the same truck with 18 inch TRD wheels running the same shocks at 1.9 front. Went with 275 70 18’s pre lift with no issues. The truck runs fine but my mileage dropped about 10%. 19 to 17 HW and similar around town. These tires were significantly heavier 10 ply. I have not noticed a power difference, but physics would say otherwise, because work is work. I can’t speak to your size. The 5.7 is still pretty nasty with power when you want it. These just cost more to run but they are pretty to look at

OME 2.5'' coil lift in front, and OME rear shocks with Toytec shackles. I had to remove both front mud flaps. I also pushed the front fender liner forward a bit but it wasn't actually necessary.

Was the spacers necessary to clear the 35x12 from contact? Thinking of this route

I wish I could hang with some of the setups on here, but I guess I'm doing okay.
2018 TRD Pro Bilstein 6112/5100 combo, and 1.25" Spidertrax spacers. Stock wheels with 275/70/18 BFG KO2 rubber. It's too bad that I undertire'd the truck with the small rubber. In hindsite, I should have gone 285 or even 295.

Still, not a bad transition since April 1st when I bought the truck.

    Week 1.

Stock suspension and no rubbing. When these tires need to be replaced I’m probably going to do 33’s and a 3&1” lift.

Just came home with yesterday a 2018 Tundra CM blazing blue pearl Limited. Got a great deal on a 3 inch toytec lift rolled into the price of the truck which I will have installed this week and before I even signed papers for the truck yesterday I ordered a set of rims and tires. The wifey is paying for it to get tinted next month for Christmas. And so the fun and money dumping begins!
