New to the Forum and am looking for my first Tundra. I went and looked at this vehicle which has a MSRP of $45800 with $3000 off if I use my own financing. If I use Toyota Financing the price is MSRP and I would get 0% for 72 months....obviously these are without any type of negotiations as of yet. I am already preapproved with NFCU at 2.9%. I have not applied with Toyota as of yet.

The vehicle is a 2018 Limited with Convenience package. 4x2. I am in South TX.

What is a reasonable OTD price? Thanks.

Im not sure if your military but if you are, NFCU gives automatic 1% off your approved rate for senior enlisted all branches. E7 and above, just have to ask, I was able to get 1.9 @ 72

Are you a costco member... you can check the prices thru costco.... many dealers match....
my 2018 Tundra TRD 4x4 Off Road was $45,000 before all the extended warranties, taxes etc...

I love the blue color too!

Probably anything at or less than 42k out the door for a limited 4x2

iIts toward the end of year. Try to shoot for at least 7k under sticker. Then add your tags, title, tax on that. if you can get better, then awesome. Most dealers are already advertising 3k off and 0.9% thru toyota financing. I would negotiate for better, personally.

    This shouldn’t matter.
If they can give you 3k off for your own financing, they can give you 3k off using Toyota Financial.

I would say around 38k because it’s not 4x4. The 19s are out so they want to get rid of the 18s

Thanks for all the great info and advice! I am no longer in the Army, that was many moons ago and only for 5 years. I am a Costco member and look into how that works. Thanks again...would consider a 4x4 if I can locate one as well.

Stopped by the dealer this morning on the way to work and the MSRP is actually $48500 and the dealers price is $49500 because of etching, tint, nitro, etc.

Vehicle has been on the lot for 5 months

Is $40k-41k out the door still reasonable?

Are you a USAA member? If not, I highly recommend you join (open an account) and use their car buying service. I've gotten great deals using them.

Never used Truecar so I'm not sure if there's a difference or not. With USAA, I put in the car I want and they send my info to 3 dealers. The dealerships will contact you, some give a discounted price immediately, while others act like they're starting from scratch. From that point forward it's standard negotiations to get the best out of them. The other benefit is USAA gives an APR discount if you are financing through them and buy from one of the dealers.

For buying my Tundra, I actually negotiated my best price then did the USAA buying service inquiry just to get the APR discount. A dealer was contacted through USAA that had ignored my initial request directly to them. They responded to the USAA inquiry and beat my previous best price (from just under 15 dealerships) by $500 OTD.

What was the MSRP? Is that local to SA or out of town? Is it an 18 or 19? CrewMax?

I can confirm this to be true. Same with costco as far as much better deals to be had if you're willing to grind the dealers down on your own.
