I might do my bed caps again sometime. I did mine about 6 years ago with rustoleum bed liner and it held well.

No oils. Just a dry heat bake rusty coating. Not dusty rusty. Just rusty baked in.

@Coachbuilder1 has a website, but the first gen shims aren’t on there.

So shoot him an email and he will get you squared away. Awesome guy with great service! Shims are high quality!

Also, if you haven’t ever changed the front suspension, grab a ratcheting 14mm wrench for the top bolts. Makes life 100x easier

Drove the truck this weekend to the cow feilds to look for shrooms after the rain.

Didn't find anything so I picked up some leftover wood from this house that was being built. They said I could take what I want. So I made my self a bar/ work bench.

    Lol

    You had me at shrooms.

I went to a local Toyota to buy some parts, guy gave me list price and I thought I might have to go to Long Beach instead, they were over $100 cheaper. After showing him the online price he gave me sale price instead, about 30% less. He was still slightly more but I didn't wanna drive to Long Beach. Nice guy I appreciate that help.

    Got 2 of everything:
Wheel bearings, inner seals, outer seals, abs rings, hub nuts, bearing clips, lower arm front and rear bushings. Got a $600 hole in my pocket now but that beats a monthly payment. Thought about going with poly bushings at 1/3rd the price but don't want the hassle.

Looking forward to taking my truck apart this weekend if weather permits. I'd say it's about a 12 pack job on the beer scale.

Wire brushed and Fluid Filmed some spots missed on the rear axle bracket bottoms that needed it. Tested my wire wheel on some surface rusted areas that were sprayed back in the spring time and they were oily all the way to the metal. Must be working.

Tested the payload rating yesterday. Scales tipped 6120lbs.

Theres a small brewery a block away, they have some really nice German style beer. I'll get their mild beer for this job called "The Lightest One". Its a slightly sweet lager, anything stronger and I'll just get sloppy and lazy.

Let us know how easy the wheel bearing are to do. Or are you taking it to a shop?
I have a high pich hum at 55mph, I think it might be my BFG AT's though, still not 100% it's my bearings im only at 107K miles

My symptoms are a grinding sound, especially if in taking a turn and lateral force is applied. Comes and goes.

I'll be pulling the spindles to do other maintenance, I'm dropping the spindles and parts off at a shop since I don't have a press. I'll see if I can get photos since this is a fairly undocumented process.

Really wish we had a hub/bearing unit like other Toyotas where I could unbolt the old and bolt in the new.

My ex neighbor offered to help me with mine and to use his dad's lift. All I had to do was pull wire and land it in the panels! Pretty good trade if you ask me. I think I'll stick with the mich ultra or Coors light though.

Very comfortable driving at the top end of payload. Empty weight with 2 passengers inside was 5180lbs.

Deduct the pass weight and the dry truck sits around 4800lbs.

The load sensing brake proportioning valve working really nice dry and weighted. So stoked on such a simple adjustment thats made a huge difference!

Is this everything I need to do the wheel bearings and axle seals? I already have the complete set of new brakes. And I need new diff juice.

Hope so, not sure. You have 4wd and mine is 2wd because 2wd is faster.
:muscleflexing: I'm picking up my parts tomorrow and will post a pic to compare piles.

Hand model I might take a stab at adjusting mine since you've had success. I have a bracket to lift it an inch but my truck still dives. Mine is probably exaggerated by my soft springs.
