My buddy has a tundra that has a 6' bed, with a crewmax cab. Are these no longer offered in 2018/19?

And no the new tundras with the crew Max are not offered in any other bed length other than 5 1/2 feet. You can get a double cab with a 6 1/2 foot bed or an 8 foot bed.

2006 would have been the last year a "crewmax" (was called double cab back then) had a 6.5' bed.

The 07+ crewmax beds are 5'7", so maybe he rounded up?

Yeah he has to measure from the inside of the bed. Unless he’s got something custom LOL.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, I would have bought a crew Max if it was just 6 inches smaller in the cab and 6 inches larger in the bed. It would’ve been right up the middle where I like it.

Hmm I wouldnt mind a larger/longer bed option. However one of the major selling points in the crewmax is the interior space. Is there another full size truck with more passenger/interior space out there? Maybe the Super MegaCrew whatchamacallit Ram?

I looked at the F150 when I was shopping and the rear space was as big as or bigger than the Tundra, and you can get a full-size bed in the SuperCrew. The new GMs and Ram have larger rear space and full-size beds as well.

As others have said, if he has a CM, he has the 5’7” bed, unless he did something custom. Would love it if Toyota made a CM with a 6’7” bed personally.

It would be cool if they ditched the DC all together and made a crew max the way it is and the new DC would now be the 6 inches shorter crew max cab with a 6 foot bed and an 8 foot bed option. It would be huge but it wouldn’t be as big as a crew Max with an 8 foot bed LOL.

I’d be interested to learn dimensions, I’d guess the CM is 1-2’ longer in the cab than the DC. I think a standard (6.5 ft) bed would be a popular combo if Toyota would build it, but not sure a CM long (8 ft) bed would be worth it for them. Here in eastern CO, there are a lot of F150’s with the standard bed but almost no half tons with long beds. The guys with long beds are driving HD diesels, and you’re never gonna get them into a gas half ton of any brand.

Crew max cab from my understanding is 1 foot larger than the double cab. And the opposite with the beds. The crew max bed is 1 foot shorter than the double cab bed. The only reason I mention the 8 foot bed because they do offer it in the double cab version. So I would imagine they would still want to keep it as an option. But I definitely couldn’t see it on the crew Max as it would just be ridiculously large.

I read an article that longer beds on a CM are not in demand, and that’s why they don’t make them.

That’s why I just want a slightly larger double cab with a slightly shorter bed as a compromise.

Not much benefit to having a dually half ton.
