57CFC4B3-1AAB-4471-9AFE-E909D978C6D9.jpg I’m in the process of replacing the front bumper on my 07 Tundra SR5 and came across two empty female plugs that are hanging behind the bumper on either side of the truck. They are right next to each of the fog lamp connections. Any idea what they are? I think they might be part of the parking sensor option (this truck doesn’t have that option). Thanks much!064CE9BA-101F-475F-B32B-14A69D77C389.jpg

That would be my first guess. A friend of mine has a 2007 SR5 that came win the parking sensor option.

Went in for my last free oil change today and after going home to change I headed to work. When I turned the A/C on it made a rattling sound under the dash and the front of the truck was shaking. I turned the A/C off for the rest of the trip, when I got to work I checked the cabin air filter and found what looked like pieces of a seal (pic attached).
What could this be and how does it all of the sudden happen right after an oil change

I'd be more concerned about the front of your truck shaking when using the A/C than a foam seal in your cabin air filter.

Hey LOTSOFTOYS quick couple of questions for ya.

Just inherited a 2001 2wd and am gonna change out the front coils with some Eibachs and have been watching vids that says to disconnect the UCA from the spindle or Swaybar to get room to install the new coils. Or could one just use a bar and pull down on the LCA to make room? I think I'm also gonna just ditch the sway, and I think somewhere in all of 44 pages I read that it's fine to run without it.

Also was driving a couple of weeks ago in some down pours and went through some puddles and all of a sudden my Air bag light came on and stays on . Any way that water could have done this? Anywhere I should look for like fuses or sensors? I did install a new head unit three weeks prior to the light coming on. Coincidence? Crutchfield had me tap into a brown wire in the fuse box under steering wheel (said it was the reverse wire). The cover of the box said different but they they said it was the correct one. Have yet to fish the wire to actually get the camera working, so no idea if it is the correct one or not. Thought it might be the culprit and undid it. Light still on. I didn't disconnect the yellow connector to the passenger air bag when installing the unit. I did turn on to acc. to see if unit would come on. Turning the key turns "on" and "off" the passenger airbag. Any idea other than taking it into the dealership for them to scan (just real busy till end of November). Right to think that light "on" means bag won't deploy if I smash anything? Just don't want any surprised while driving. :)

Any idea why the paint on the bed is starting to turn yellow? Weird. It looks almost like resin discoloring and peeling off. Thinking of just rattle canning it white.

Also have a Leer top and want to tap the inside light and third brake light. Ok to tap brake light to brake wire in rear lights? Where to tap interior light? Maybe outside dome light?

Sorry for the long questions. Thanks!

Yeah just pry the LCA down. And I would say scan the airbag code.

I have 03 Limited TRD 185k. Do all general maintenance on it, I’ve had brake issues and left exhaust manifold leak. Just wondering what the next common issues I should expect ??? Really try to take care of her. Few interior issues, front door panel starting to peel slowly(pleather) driver seat shot, mostly cosmetics, cv boots have been don a couple times, nothing major , any help would be great !!!

    Hello Lotsoftoys,
I have a 2019 SR5 Double Cab. It appears to be having the same issues with the pre collision malfunction that people were having with the 2018’s. I’m bringing it into my dealership on Monday and they are supposed to be looking at the software. Have you seen any 2019’s with this problem yet, and does it sound legitimate that it could be a software issue? Thanks for your time.

My pre collision off light will come on out of the blue while driving but usually within the first 15 minutes of driving. You can scroll over to the PCS display and see that it is still on but it does not work. It usually last 5-10 minutes then it will go off and work normally for about 90% of the time. My front sensor is always clean when it does this so I’m not sure what may be triggering it. I just got a call from my dealership saying that they did not find any issue codes but after putting in my vin there was a software issue recall and they did an update. Hopefully this will fix it.

Well, it wasn’t 15 minutes away from the dealership and the pre-collision sensor turned off on its own again, so back to the dealership tomorrow morning.

DIY TPMS Tools...I hope I'm not beating a dead horse but I searched the forum for TPMS tools and found very little info. I have two sets (like summer and winter tire/wheel sets) each with dedicated TPMS. I'd like to be able to swap the sets out and not deal with a dealer or tire store. Is there an economical TPMS tool for the Tundra (2018) for a DIY'r that you would recommend?

Hey man, this is less mechanical and more of a fucking annoyance. I’ve got a constant rattle in my door panels, both front driver and passenger. Toyo Service has applied some felt tape in the handle areas from the inside, but that didn’t help - it’s something else. I had my kid video the sound while driving. The Service Advisor just says, “we don’t know,” and that’s it. No willingness to diagnose. I am literally about to trade the truck in over this constant rattling. Any thoughts?

Listen to the first and last minute of the video for the highlights.

I had issues with this myself. I tried programming the oem tpms sensors and I could not find a tool to do so that would correctly communicate with the ecu and no tire store tried 5 different ones was able to do it. They said the tpms sensors on the 2018+ tundra had like 7 digit code that was currently not supported and only the dealership could program. So $60 later and the dealership programmed them. Only issue is that they will only program oem tpms sensors. This was last month so maybe there might be a work around now.

Has she tried plugging in a charging cord to the USB outlet and playing it through that? I had issues with the entune system and gave up because it sucks. But for the mean time if she plugs the phone in and hits the audio button above the home button there will be a source tab that appears on the top right of the screen. If she hits that it will bring up options for ways to play music (XM, AM, FM, Bluetooth and USB). If she hits the USB one it should play music.

Sounds like either the window is rattling on its frame , or a cable inside the door is rattling up against the window or against the sheet metal. You know there is know padding or anything inside those doors, just a bid piece of plastic covering. Try taking off the door panel and padding the two cables..

I had to pad the cables for the door lock with some foam to solve it, same sound that he is having.

Awesome, thanks. That is exactly my next step. Pull the panels and wrap the cable housing in some sort of foam. Thanks for the suggestions.

Can you pull the panels and then drive it around? That should make it easy to pinpoint the sound.

Not sure if the cables would be in their original "noisy" position though. They'd be disconnected from the door panel and hanging loose.
