I'm new here and this if my first post, little about me and my truck. It's a 2007 Toyota tundra sr5 double cab TRD silver. I got the truck from my father in 2014 and be bought it new in 2007. This is my first car and the truck was just a bit to stock so I've done stuff to it. But in my Journey I've found alot of questions people cant awsner, specifically if certin 2014+ parts fit. I've found a good amount of them who do but I'm going to use this post to document what fits and dosent and hopefully help people make second gen tundras look more like thrid gens. So far I've been able to fit a skid plate, tow miriors and fog lights with SLIGHT modification, although I have cubes in right now.

Great idea. However, I am not sure why you would want to make a 2nd gen look more like a 3rd gen anyway. The 2nd gens look better to start with.

Also, according to this thread, there is no such thing as a 3rd gen:

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

I don't think there is really a "third gen" either, but there's no easier way to put it. Second gen second body style maybe? And mostly because the newer ones up updated technology like headlights for example. Won't he replacing panles anytime soon lol

I was just giving you a bit of grief. If you read the thread, you will see that I actually think that the 2014+ models should be called a 3rd gen. Anyway, nice truck!

A few guys have done a full 3rd gen front end swap. Looks bad ass but it's a lot of work. Hood, fenders, grille, brackets, headlights. Probably costs $3-4k

For a refreshed look you can buy 2018 sequoia OEM LED headlights and little filler panel and put them on a 2nd gen. They look bad ass and very updated. Cost of that upgrade is $1500-2000 I think.

I wouldn't bother to try and make my truck look like a "3rd gen". Too much work, Toyota changed a lot of body parts including

    Front bumper
    Headlights
    Grill
    Hood
    Front Fenders
    Completely different rear bed
    Tailgate
    Rear bumper
    Wheels
All those plastic parts on the inner fenders, front and back.

About the only thing they didn't change was the cab and doors.

Its a lot of crap they changed, not worth the effort IMO. This isn't a 90's Chevy truck, where its very easy to change the grill/headlights to make it look cooler/sleeker/newer.

Not to discourage you, as to each their own, I love seeing custom touches on people's rigs. Just saying if you want to do something like a 2014+ front clip, its going to be a lot more work than you think.

I'm thinking about putting a 2014 steering wheel on the 2007, any ideas if it'd fit?

i (happily!) migrated from the chevy universe, where people arent as bright as us tundra drivers, we refered to them as Old Body Style(OBS), New Body Style(NBS), and NNBS or New, New Body Stlye - luckily i left at that point before the NNNBS's came around but its kinda like that: a second gen, NNBS

The adjustable lower rectangular convex/bubble mirror basically eliminates the blind spot.

I was towing a boat so I picked up the OEM tow mirrors. Sold the boat. Don't feel like going through the hassle of switching bc I plan on getting another boat. Now I have to be very careful backing in the garage and going through ATM's.

The passenger side is not convex (I think that's the right word) at all so it takes some getting used to if you haven't used towing mirrors in the past.

I love the side marker and blinker lights though.

i would love them for my rear blind spots but the word on the street is to eliminate those blind spots you get these mirrors = creating blind spots at 10 and 2.

i mean i had the traditional style on my GM and they didnt bother me but my tundra is a monster compared to that and the mirror style is the different, they are the size of macbooks after all

Ahh I didn't think about the 10/2 blind spot. It hasn't bothered me. Not saying it doesn't exist, but so far (knock on wood) it hasn't been an issue.

In the works to convert my 2nd gen tundra into 2.75. Question to anyone who's done the upgrade.. How'd you go about fog lights to blend in with new headlights output? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
