Well, just like the Raptor, Toyota is doing the same with the TRD Pros...
Then again, when the volume is low, who wouldn't do this anyway?
    $58k after $5k market adjustment.

Sorry for the picture quality, i took the pic while my truck was getting maintenance done. The sales reps were starting to creep up as i was walking toward this truck.

BTW tundra trd pro and base raptor in supercrew is the same price.......

I did own a 16 Tundra trd pro and now own a 18 raptor screw.

Biggest difference is Ford keeps updating their problems and covering it up. EcoBoost gen 1 was a total flop. The new gen 2 raptor and reliable doesnt exist. Look at any ford or raptor forum and look at the long laundry list of problems. It's not small ones. Its ones that leave people stranded. Faulty transfer case faulty transmissions, faulty fuel systems, limp mode, excessive oil consumption leading to limp, early turbo failure despite updated BorgWarner's, 4wd system (vacuum engaged) erroneously engaging, ford not owning up to the problems and dealers just saying not reproducible or wont do anything.

My biggest worry about the tundra drivetrain? Leaking can tower seal. ROFLMAO.

Had no issues with my gen2 so far in about a year and a half of ownership. If it did take a shit, id probably get a 19 Tundra Pro, add a SC and a mid travel setup + supporting mods and be set

I bought mine out of state with a lifetime powertrain warranty. Only way I would buy it.

These are 2 different trucks though. Tundra is more of a tougher truck to tow and haul. Raptor isn't bred to do that.

One big thing though is the raptor community has ford on such a high pedestal that can do no wrong its embarrassing to be associated. Then again same goes for tundra or Tacoma or any other forum.

Tundras got too broish for me. 6to12 inch drop bracket on 22" chrome with massive negative offset and 6 inch exhaust. BROOOOO.

Market adjustment is bullshit. I had ford dealer in Gilbert say he'd sell me a raptor at a great price. Owner said they got to move. So the price was 5k over. I said wtf? His reply is it was a deal as they were asking 15k over. HAHA Gtfo.

I love both my trucks. The Raptor has more of a sports car feel than the tundra. It’s a bit faster and far less body roll. Lots more tech. Interior a lot nicer, has led lights everywhere, comes with 35’s, side steps, all kinds of fun goodies.

Im still comparing the two, but so far I do like the trans of the Tundra better. The Raptors 10 speed will sometimes “stick” or stay in a gear and kind of “wind out” instead of shifting. When you stay on it, it will change through gears quickly and perfectly. But if you mash through a few gears and let off, it’ll sit there at 4-5k for a few seconds sometimes.

Yep I had to search and search and call around 40+ dealerships. Ended up finding a place in TN and ordered mine to spec at msrp + shipping

I'll hate on what I want. I've driven the big three for work and the Ford and Chevy sucked at what I needed them to do.....as did the Ram 1500. The only one that did what I needed was the Ram 2500.

I hate all the electronics in the new vehicles. I'm glad my truck isn't covered with them. If I want something I'll add it....at a much cheaper price....financing gadgets makes me cringe.

    On that note....

OP....love your Tundra! It's sexy AF! Welcome to the family!

Thank you sir. And as I stated before, if the Raptor failed me or if I didn’t have it, I would go all out on a Tundra Pro with mid travel, sc, everything. Still might do that in the future. Also curious and interested in what the next gen Tundra will be

Honestly, I have a thought on a lt truck, I’ll be looking for the right truck to do it with, but I think it will be 1 of a kind when I do get around to it, but it won’t be a tundra, that’s for sure

Having owned a magnuson tundra and now a whipple tuned raptor, the tundra to me still feels faster. especially at the top end. (though these are not 100+MPH vehicles AT ALL).
i got tore up at a raptor forum and all the raptor guys flaming me. Sure the Raptor does generate torque sooner and more, but the HP difference is quite large. (excluding E20)

JB4 Raptor Tune which is pretty aggressive at the 91 octane tune.

I found out that you can order a new one and have it shipped to a local dealership ridiculously low price....... wish i would have known before shelling out $1300 for shipping.

Funny u mentioned that they aren't 100mph vehicles. I have a magnuson supercharger too which feels amazing but the steering feels lighter at 100+mph. I thought Raptor might not have this problem. Guess i just have to accept it and not try to come up w solutions to give it German car handling.

    For legality purposes.... ;-)

But seriously, the trucks and tires are not rated for those speeds. Aerodynamic as a refrigerator and its not stable. Also the light steering feel on the Tundra im not entirely comfortable with. It's too light. The raptor does have a great steering feel that is more solid and relative to speed for me. Personally I enjoyed my Tacoma and 4Runner steering more.

On an off-road track*, ive made several pulls all the way up to 140mph QUICK FAST and in a hurry. It doesnt hesistate or taper off much. But those speeds is not what its intended for.

If i wanted a high speed vehicle for triple digit speeds, i would go buy one or build one that was made for it.

Interesting that the Ford fans say they like the 10speed better. The Tundra 6 speed they complain is old and aged and is too far apart. Well no shit. Its 6 gears vs 10.

I do agree that the raptor does feel more like a sports car the way you pound through the gears accelerating to keep it in its torque and power band more. But it skips alot of gears. So whats the point of it? It regularly skips through 3 or even 4 gears. Effectively making it a 6-7 speed....

One thing i do notice about the tundra with BD tune, it doesnt stay in gear much with increased throttle and load. It down shifts easily. my tacoma with TRD S/C with the 5 speed would stay in a gear and pull more.

Spotted a Ford Raptor with Shelby markings at Costco the other day. I told the elderly lady it was a good looking truck and left it at that. I'd taken a photo but she was loading it up with groceries.

Sorry I have to bring this thread to the top. A lot of great and funny posts in here. I own a 2012 Raptor. Love it. Might buy a 2019 Tundra as a third vehicle. The recurring comments that I can’t understand are the ones about the 99% of people who aren’t using their Raptors off road are somehow wasting their money? Isn’t the zombie apocalypse coming? I’d want a Raptor for that. Kidding of course. But it is America. And last I checked it is the “Land of the free”. Who cares if people buy off road vehicles and don’t use them for off roading? Is there an off roading police force that you guys all want to exist? It’s their money and their truck. Should we be yelling at all corvette owners who don’t race their vets? Or better yet, maybe we should criticize every person who buys running shoes but doesn’t run. Where does it end? Drive your Tundra or Raptor wherever the hell you want to and thank the people in this country who fought for your freedoms to be able to do so.

Maybe don't be so sensitive to criticism. Just like you say it is ok for people to use their Raptor however they see fit - it is also ok for people to have an opinion about that.

You are sort of right. It’s not my opinion that people should be able to drive their trucks where they want. It’s their freedom. Yes people have the freedom to have an opinion too. And they have the freedom to be jealous and whine. I don’t feel criticized by people on a forum. Good try though.

These raptor guys sound like divas haha they come in here saying people are jealous they can’t afford them but then bash others opinion? Tons of tundra people here have said the raptor is badass. What do you want, people to kiss your feet cuz you bought a 80k truck to drive to work and back? That’s cool man, it’s your money. But people have their opinions, wanna hear nothing but positives about it go to the raptor forum

Nothing but respect for the Raptor.. I considered buying one, they are badass looking and have lots of features my TRD PRO lacks. However I am glad I didnt buy one, I see so many everyday which takes away the exclusiveness of having one.
I counted 3 in less than 5 minutes after leaving my house... one day I counted 10 during a 30 minute drive in Tampa.
There is a crap ton listed for sale on ebay... with Ford making so many now its going to ding the resale value.

Hi, welcome to tundras.com glad your considering getting a tundra. They are bad ass trucks.

Now go pound sand with this jealous bull.

I’ve said it multiple times and I’ll restart it here. For the price of the truck for a “purpose built” I can build in my garage a truck that can do everydamnthing a stock raptor (hell even a modified one) can do plus I don’t have to worry about thrashing on a 50k+ truck.

I don’t give a damn who drives what and for what purpose they choose to drive it. Insert your cus Murcia :oldglory:

But don’t call something a xyz then not use it for an xyz. See my issue? “My raptor is so capable blah blah blah” *never seen a dirt path*

So much hate from you guys ^

“I can build this I can build that”

    “Overpriced”

    “Never taken off road”

One could say the same damn thing about the Pro

Love my Tundra but the Raptor offers a lot more. Because it costs a lot more. Pretty simple

If they made a TRD Pro T with mid-travel, wide body, reinforced frame, heated and cooled seats, keyless everything, led everything, running boards, 35’s, supercharged, 360 degree cameras, nicer interior, panoramic sunroof, plus everything else.... it would cost about 20k more. And I’d buy it.

But.... they don’t. So I have the Raptor and a modded Tundra. So save your bs

I’m cool with that statement and agree. But I’m pretty sure you were the one swinging your nuts saying anyone who said anything negative about the raptor was just jealous and couldn’t afford it. Which isn’t necessary or true

That being said I’d like to drive one with the 6.2. 22 inches of travel, that’s correct? That’s badass

Just got all the (Fucking Owners Real Dumb) owners that call me a hater here is one I like. And it’s not because of the mods mind you.

I want everyone to pay VERY close attention to what this man has said.

He calls it a daily driver, he has it HEAVILY modified, it’s probably super capable off road, but he doesn’t use it off road, so he doesn’t claim it to be capable.

It is simply a daily driver. As a wise Jeep owner once called his Lexus, a beater with a heater.
